Worst Client That I Have Ever Had! EVER!
I don’t know if this will make a difference, but here I go!
Thanks to some people who really care about me, I worked up the nerve to drop a project with a horrible client!
The reason for this guy for receiving the award for ‘Worst Client Ever’ isn’t just because I didn’t get paid a dime for my work. THAT I could deal with on my own because one of my housemate was nice enough to give me a shot and I decided to give it a whirl knowing full well that my chances of getting paid was 50/50 at best because everyone has it set in their minds that it’s art now, money later (If we feel like it).
The reason why he is the worst is because we would ask me a bunch of questions that was frankly none of his dame business!
“Do you have a boyfriend?”
“Have you had a boyfriend?”
These and a slew of other bullshit questions that had nothing to do with the project that he wanted me to do! He says that he’s too ‘impatient’ to get to know me through time so he he asks me like 200 questions in a span of 5 minutes and he tries WAY too hard to be nice to me by saying that he would buy me a new laptop and tickets to the next Bellator MMA Match which I’m pretty sure that he didn’t mean to but it came off kinda creepy!
I think that I was being way too nice by actually doing 9 designs for him in the first place! My initial plan was to half-ass the project so that they would drop me, But looking back at it, I put in way more effort into this than it deserved, ESPECIALLY after that uncomfortable game of 20 questions.
The ultimate coup de grace would have to be the next morning where one of my housemates showed me 9 designs created by an artist before me. They were all very impressive but the thing that really turned me off was when she said that she only paid $78 for the one that she liked.
$78 FOR ONE LOUSY DESIGN!!!
WHAT THE HELL CAN YOU DO WITH 78 BUCKS? STARE AT IT FOR HOURS AND THINK ABOUT HOW BADLY YOU WERE RIPPED OFF???
So with a lot of thought and with help from some friends, I dropped the project saying that I have another project that I wanted to work on and couldn’t focus on that one (Which is true, by the way so stay tuned!) and I just......feel so much better!
I’ve have bad clients before, but they NEVER asked me personal questions like that! Why? Because they were PROFESSIONAL!!
So if you read anything about me and about my ‘professionalism”,please please PLEASE don’t believe a word of it! I have no reason to lie about this and I sure as hell wouldn’t by typing all of this if I didn’t think that it wasn’t important!
