@worst-mistakes liked a post-endgame starter call
She had known when he came back alone. Natasha Romanoff had sacrificed herself. She didn’t need to ask. Not only had the expression on his face told the entire story, but she had known already. One of them had to have died in order to retrieve the stone. And while guilt crept up within her at holding that information to herself, she had known it was necessary.
Necessary. That was what her father had thought when he had sacrificed Gamora.
Clint did not sacrifice Natasha. Clint fought to keep Natasha alive. It was an easy assumption to make. Because those events destroyed him inside, she could tell. And the only thing that was left to do was apologise. And tell him the truth. Make amends. Because she was better than the warrior, the assassin, she had been manipulated to be her entire life.
Though, her good intentions did not stop her nerves.
"Gamora died the same way. But she didn’t have someone there to fight her corner. You did all you could. Know that none of this would have happened if it wasn’t for her.”
