Binged Way of the Samurai 4 on day off

WOW. This niche-as-hell PS3 game KNOWS what I like. I was literally on the ropes and about to die when my swords broke in battle against some hyped up Japanese xenophobes, so all I had to rely on was some dinky martial arts unarmed style...and lo and behold, I manage to persevere long enough to learn the parrying move that let me break ALL their swords! So much for that superior Japanese steel, huh, Nips? Ungh. I can not tell you how much I adore this series ever since daddy got me the first one from a bargain bin in Gamestop years ago. Collecting these damn swords and styles is like playing a Pokemon game that's actually fun. And the combat is rewarding, once you learn what moves can start combos and the push and pull mechanic.Did I mention you can make your own fighting style up and have a girls-only dojo? That's right, no dudes allowed. They'll just bring down my dojo's score. Next day off I get...probably going to invite /a/ over (sans her mother /jp/) and let her see this. This is something she would enjoy...and I guess I've been a little mean to her lately. Biggest complaint? There's no real penalty for dying anymore, since you can retry. Boo. I suggest any of you losers with non-toaster PCs pick this up in January when it releases on Steam.

Dona Dona in Way of the Samurai 4

If you've been living under a rock (or above it, this game is niche as hell), then you need to know about Way of the Samurai. Basically, the series is like choose-your-own-adventute samurai/spaghetti western movies with a pretty cool sword collecting/forging and satisfying combat system. And for the veterans of the series, I came across a job where I had to kill Dona Dona, a black afro wannabe samurai who dine-and-dashed. Pretty harsh. But when I got there, I couldnt kill the guy...we just had such a fun time way back in Way of the Samurai 1 on the PS2. He was the protector of the innocent Suzu and her grandfather, and though he couldnt really do much, he really wanted to be that helpful samurai. So i spared him, gave him 3k yen to pay his debt...and helped him start his quest to become the samurai he was in Wots1. Damn, gotta love Acquire-Spike. And XSeed for localization.
