Source: Bowie is a lot like Morrissey in many ways for me.  he has earned it, put in many years of amazing work.  whatever he does is ok by me.  I will go see him every time he plays, and buy every record he makes.  he is an artist in every sense of the word and he earned it.  he made some beautiful masterpieces.  It's too bad the world doesn't acknowledge songs and musical masterpieces like the David, Starry Night, or the Mona Lisa.  If they did Bowie would be immortalized for eternity.  maybe he already is, but i dont think he is enough.

Source:  At the risk of bumming out people who read this blog and think i only listen to punk rock music I'm going to post up this shirt of one of my absolute favorite bands.  By far one of the best live shows i have ever witnessed in my life.  the Pet Shop Boys.  

When i hear their name it gives me this image i had of me in the 7th grade getting ready to take class photos and me waiting in line descretly listing to my well concealed Sony Walkman.  On it was the first Pet Shop Boys record "Please."  I don't know why it is this image i remember, but it is.  I was rocking a lot of weird shit in the 7th grade, well more so than most nerdy 13 yo kids.  My playlists, and by playlists i mean cassette collection consisted of the Fixx, Dead Or ALive, Depeche Mode, ABC, and this Pet Shop Boys Record.  

I will admit, I sound like a lil gay Goth kid, but that is the surprising thing.  I was a skateboarder, and hadn't really dove into punk rock at the point in my life yet.  funny to think that all this shit was the starter kit for it.  weird right?  Van Halen > Depeche Mode > Black Flag.  Seems like a stretch, but that is how it went for me in those days.  Thanks god too, cause that was right when Hagar Joined Van Halen.  Perhaps i have Sammy to thank for introducing me to punk rock. 

PSB, i don't care if you do not like them or not, but if you get a chance to see a live show, go to it, it is the closet thing to a musical i will ever get to in my life, because i hate musicals.  the show was amazing.  worth every penny.
