‘madi,’ his voice sticks in his throat, jagged around the edges, not quite as heavy as it had been that night, but still weighted. with guilt, maybe. guilt she wasn’t the first he told. guilt he’d told her clarke was dead in the first place. ( it wasn’t the first time, after all, that he had mourned clarke griffin, had it? it wasn’t the first time he had been wrong. ) he knows how he had felt, knows what it feels like to lose a part of him ⏤ again.
but he also knows, without doubt, that there is no one in this world universe that loves clarke more than the girl in front of him. she’d had clarke longer than any of them. she’d had a part of clarke that none of them ever had. so finding himself here, it was just as simple as it was difficult, but there is no doubt that holds him back. and he thinks if anyone might understand, might have unwavering faith in this news, it’s her. ‘do you have a minute?’ his eyes flick around the room, half to make sure they’re alone for this, and perhaps half to prepare himself for it. ‘it’s important.’

Helena wasn’t supposed to be down here. Lexie and Harry-God, the thought that they were the mayors now still felt like a big joke, a ‘Gotcha!’ that hadn’t dropped yet-had made the punishment for doing so severe. But she needed answers. She had a feeling Luke wasn’t being honest, but how did she know Allie would be truthful? God, she’d had tea with Allie only a day ago. And now here they were.
“Tell me what Luke said isn’t true.” She said flatly. “Tell me that you haven’t been playing us.”

with a near two year old on his hip, a towel draped across his shoulder, and drool on his chest, it’s safe to say bellamy isn’t expecting anyone for company today. which is why the sound of his door opening and closing is a tad worrisome. he’s never actually had someone break in to his apartment, but there is a first time for everything. once upon a time he might have grabbed a baseball bat out of the closet for protection, but today he grabs a baby bottle. which is definitely not ideal, but he’s got a pretty mean arm and his aim isn’t half bad. he’s got this.
but when he makes his way out of the kitchen and can eventually see the apartment’s entryway, he immediately realizes he doesn’t need any self-defense techniques. which is, somehow, more confusing. ‘raven?’ bellamy calls as he recognizes her, voice tinged with confusion. he doesn’t know why, it’s raven, she’s pretty much synonymous with surprises. he shifts rory on his hip, gaze a mixture of wariness and bemusement, and maybe a dash of pleasantly surprised. ‘what are you doing here?’

Helena shook her head and walked purposefully out of the church. This was all bullshit to her. How could Luke do that? She didn’t stop walking until she’d reached the clinic, at which point she opened the door and stepped inside. Becca and her baby were sleeping. She just, needed a quiet place to think.
Helena leaned against the wall, pulling her head in her hands. How had she known that Lexie running would be a bad idea? She exhaled a deep sigh.

okay, this is something i’ve wondered about FOREVER. thank you for researching this and writing it out.
most of this is just my personal headcanon and not part of the show’s canon ( jrot ended it with they just abort a foetus and let the other survive and that was it ) but i wanted to take a little bit from the novel’s classist system of the ark and expand ! i’m glad you like it though , i had to drag up old childcare research of mine for the pregnancy stuff lmao.
