I don’t really follow award shows. But it was hard to ignore that the Grammy Awards were happening last night.
When I saw that Sturgill Simpson won the award for Best Country Album it at least reminded me that I still had some pictures from his show at the Way Out West Festival 2015 in Gothenburg in my archive. He had a seemingly ungrateful slot in the early afternoon, but in effect it meant that people who showed up were really there to listen to him.
Congratulations to him and his band! In contrast to artists like Adele and Beyoncé it might actually help him to gain a wider audience.
