Day 1 of WoYA move
Aside from large furniture (beds, dressers, bookcase) everything from the condo has been moved ! So that's all my clothes, and personal belongings. Tomorrow after we have mass and formation (holy hour), we'll move all the big stuff - couches, beds, etc. Tomorrow night we'll be sleeping in our new home !
Making moves!
Let's talk about the fact that I move this coming Saturday into our new rental Women Youth Apostles home! This morning, Tiff and I talked about why we're excited about this: 1. For the past year, when asked where I live, I've responded with "I'm staying with my friend Kathy" or "right now I'm living in my friend's condo"-- this past year I have been a paying guest. Starting this weekend, I will be a resident of a home I can call mine (though I do have roommates obv) 2. I'm excited about what this means for community. A house (and eventually consecrated life, when we have those vocations), is what stabilizes community. It is the center, the heart, the meeting place. I'm beyond excited to have us hold our meetings there, to be our own small community, feel our growth but also continue to experience our smallness in order to push our current boundaries. Having our own center means being able to be more relational with women seeking community who might want to explore Women Youth Apostles. 3. For my own discernment in community. Discernment is a constant process. I have just recently made my one-year full member commitment to Women Youth Apostles. As long as I am single and in a different state than my parents, a community house is the best place for me. To immerse myself in my faith shared with my sisters will not only continue to strengthen my relationship with Christ, but will strengthen my relationships with my sisters, and allow for me to lend my current vocational state to build up our community. Pray for us, for the four of us moving into the house, for our other sisters to make this their second home as well, for our growth, for our commitments and for our apostolic mission to serve young people!
Join me for a happy dance
Because we have been approved for a lease for the house !!!!!
Okay so I was wrong and hopefully TODAY we can submit the house application. Tiffany is just waiting on Lillie's pay stubs and then it's in God's hands.
Guys.
I'm so excited. I just wrote and sent the email/letter officially requesting my approval to become a Full Member of my community (Women Youth Apostles) to council. Should they approve, I will make my commitment at a mass liturgy either May 9th or early June at the latest !! Oh also Lillie wants to make a candidate commitment and move into a WoYA house! Which means since tiff, Clarissa and I have been looking NOW, we can up the search and lower cost per person weeeeee
Excited about today!
I have work but only the lunch shift. I'm going to ask someone to switch with me and be a closer so I can get off earlier. Then I am going to run to the bank, make my cash deposit. Then I'm going to Tiffany's office and helping stuff name tags for Rally this Sunday and hopefully everyone will agree on me going out and nabbing some pf Changs or chipotle or something to eat. And then it's candidate formation weeeeee! Once a month is two infrequent if you ask me.
