Here are some photos I took of the old LA zoo in Griffith park, the place has tons of graffiti art and cramped cages and a couple ruined buildings. You can see the conditions that animals were subjected to and how far zoo standards have come. It’s enjoyable to hike around and it’s definitely worth checking out if you like creepy or abandoned areas. The zoo was built in 1912 as a WPA project and remained open till 1966 after the current LA zoo was built two miles away.
