Gem slowly progressing into a more villainous person with each evil deed, and because of that Gem eventually will need a wake up call

Basically, Pearl discovers that two of the other emperors are kidnapped (Katherine and Joel sounds like a good idea) and confronts Fwhip and Sausage demanding where they are and gives her the location. The two don't follow her as they trust her and stuff and already planned to bully Jimmy more. When Pearl finally arrives she asks for the key to unlock the captured emperors shackles and cells however Gem refuses, Pearl had already been getting agitated more and more from all of what her alliance had been doing to the others so they get into a yelling match and then a fight. During the fight Pearl manages to pin down Gem and was trying to pry the keys from Gem's hands up until the key gets tossed to the side and into one of the two cells so the captured rulers could escape. Gem and Pearl were focused on each other though and kept yelling at each other and fighting, eventually Pearl goes too far with her words and they abruptly stop fighting to just process what Pearl had said
I really like this, I would say it would be interesting that Pearl arrives to the Mythland dungeons (Gem wasn't studying them, but their magical source [Mother Tree, The Spring], so she decided that it wasn't super necessary to keep them close in the Cliffs), she finds Joel and Katherine, they cannot find any keys, so Pearl tries to brute force the locks, and as she is about to hit the lock with her sword or axe, Gem arrives. The fight happens and...
"Haven't you realized all the things you have fucked up in the name of getting knowledge?!" Pearl shouted at her. "Are you even still doing all these stuff because you really want to learn? Or is that what you have been saying to yourself to feel better?"
Gem lowered her staff, mouth open as if she wanted to say something, but what came out were some tears from her eyes. "I- I... just want to find a way to get my magic back to normal." She started sobbing. "Pearl, I don't like what I have been doing, but I cannot stop--"
"You can't stop? Or you don't want to stop? Save those crocodile tears. Because, I'm tired of cleaning up after all your "pranks" and stuff." She turned around to Joel and Katherine. "Let's go, guys. Let me take you somewhere safe." They both nodded. Pearl guided them out of the dungeon, not before turning around one last time, to see her friend crying, grinding her teeth, trying to stop herself to say something stupid, like-
"Go away Pearl. I never needed you anyway."
Pearl turned back to the door, and went her way.
Gem fell to her knees, as she continued crying.
Some time later, Fwhip and Sausage returned to the dungeon, where they found the wizard curled on herself. They took her to her Mythland room, so she would be on a more comfortable place, she told them what happened, and they stayed with her a little bit, Fwhip left early, as he needed to attend some business on the Grimlands, leaving Sausage in charge of take care of Gem.
"Why do I still feel bad? This shouldn't affect me so much." Was the first thing she said hours after the explanation.
"You don't have to." That was Sausage's voice, but not his normal one. "If you let it take control, you don't need to feel bad ever again."
Gem looked up at his cousin, at his red eyes, consumed by dark magic. And smileda bit.
