It's been a long day, and I'm at my wit's end for other reasons, but folks.
An airball is when you miss so badly it's embarrassing. It's a basketball term, indicating that you did so poorly, you couldn't even hit the rim.
I have yet to see a consistent theme for the airball trend, but it's not hard.
"Oh, you like cars? You must have a cool one, like a lambo!" -shows dinky little car
"Oh, you're an actor? What big movies have you been in?" - shows blank IMDB page
You get the idea. It's not about anything being inherently shameful - you can have a dinky car or not have booked a job. That's totally fine and not a reflection on you!
But the *trend* is about you poking fun at your own expense, a little bit.
For the love of God, stop airballing good shit! That's not an airball! That's a slam dunk!
