[ SPLASH ] receiver purposefully runs out into the rain without an umbrella to enjoy the storm while sender watches.
soft action prompt (accepting)
"You...have never stomped around in a puddle?" Izuku didn't know why he was shocked, he should have known better by now and understood just how deprived Todoroki was of his childhood.
While parents typically disapproved of this activity, Izuku remembered everyone in his friendship circle doing it at least once. At some point, it even became a contest, and all of the kids competed to see who would be able to create the most impressive splash (usually Kacchan). When Izuku went home after his first puddle jump experience, his mother frowned over his dirty shoes. He tucked his feet back, trying to hide them from her scrutiny out of guilt. What he didn't know at that time was a few days later, she would come back from the mall with a gift - a pair of tiny red rain boots, decorated with All Might stickers.
Though he did not grow up with a quirk and had to endure some hardship because of that, Izuku must admit he was spoiled rotten in many other aspects of his life.
Dropping his umbrella, Izuku stepped out into the rain. This was an impulse decision and clearly not very smart. At the very least, the two of them would end up with soaked shoes and socks, and at the very worst, a cold awaited. At that moment, though, he thought perhaps it didn't matter...maybe Todoroki wouldn't mind risking a cold in favor of trying to regain some of the childhood fun he'd missed out on.
"Come on!" Splash. Izuku jumped into the puddle in front of him with no hesitation. He looked back at Todoroki through his wet bangs, rainwater dripping down from his hairline and trailing through his lashes. He blinked hard to clear his eyes before offering his classmate a bright, inviting smile. "It's still pretty fun." He admitted, taking a few stomps and offering Todoroki his hand.
When Izuku picked up his umbrella again by the handle several minutes later, his pant legs were drenched and filthy. He tried to decide if that was worth it and...well, perhaps next time they should put on some rain boots. As he turned, Izuku caught a shadowy figure in his peripheral vision. He paused, questioned himself, but did ultimately return his gaze towards that corner.
No one was there, even though he thought...
"It's probably nothing." Izuku figured it wasn't worth pursuing. They should focus on getting back to school before it got any darker and warm up.
