Prompt was "If I kissed you, I don't think I'd be able to stop. "
Echo didn't visit Pabu as much as he liked. He wished he could but what he was doing had to come first. It was hard, being freed, realizing his old life was gone, relearning himself only for the spiral to begin anew. Moving forward felt hard when he kept looking back. There was so much disconnect being here. He loved them but the batch weren't soldiers anymore, Hunter slept through loud noises, Crosshair didn't carry a gun (everywhere), and Wrecker- well he was quieter. Echo rubbed his hand over the other side of the bed then and was unsurprised to find it empty. Wrecker was probably halfway down to the docks by now, fishing gear under his arm. He was still loud when he was around everyone but there was a contained stillness when he thought he was alone. Wrecker always had a new story, a new person he'd helped on Pabu, whenever he spoke to Echo. If he was honest, Echo wondered why they were still together. Wrecker was popular with everyone. He’d greet them by name and was named in return. Echo didn't want to give it up but it felt a bit unfair to expect him to just wait around.
But Wrecker was so loyal
Maybe that was part of the problem.
The docks weren't too far from the house, Echo put on some loose soft shorts and one of Wrecker's shirts. It was way too big on him, engulfing him almost to his knees but also hung off one shoulder.
So…
Maybe it was cheating but Echo didn't care.
He had a man to reel in.
He made his way down the stone steps until he hit the sand, the first splashes of color begin to dot the horizon. Wrecker’s back was to him as he sat alone, it was a smaller pier-more for fishing with a singular pole than attaching any type of boat. His line wasn't even in the water, the pole just sat on the wood at his side.
“You left me alone in bed and I've only been back a day.” Echo tried to sound teasing but he didn't quite manage it. He missed Wrecker.
“Aw sorry I thought you'd sleep in longer, you looked tired…” Wrecker turned as he spoke but the words trailed off as he saw what Echo was wearing. Trying to feel anything other than smug Echo put his hand on his hip.
“I was tired but I thought I'd wake up to…something to keep me up.” He drew out the last word, but then Wrecker's face twitched, looking guilty instead of interested.
“Oh.” He said, his hands came together on his lap and he twirled his thumbs around each other.
Echo's heart clenched but he pushed the words past anyway, “Wrecker it's okay…if you're not…you know…. interested anymore-” Echo jumped as Wrecker flew to his feet.
“What-! Who said that?!” He boomed, looking worried.
Echo waved both his hands, his new prosthetic still stiff, “No one-! I just assumed that since you were avoiding me you'd …moved on?” The look of mounting horror on Wrecker's face had Echo second guessing the words.
“I'm not avoiding you-”
Echo raised an eyebrow, looking at the fishing pole by their feet, Wrecker's face turned sheepish.
“Well … it's not because of that….” He looked away, Echo raised his hands and pulled Wrecker's face back to his.
“Wrecker…whatever it is. It's okay. We're both adults. Just- talk to me.”
Wrecker bit his lip, “I don't think I could stop-”
Echo blinked. “Stop-Wrecker what?”
Wrecker broke then, both hands raised, words flying out in quick succession, “If I kissed you I don't think I'd be able to stop. I just want to touch you all the time. But you're here to see everyone. I can't keep you in bed all day-! Omega misses you, even Crosshair wants to be around you. Batcher likes it when you play with her too. It's not fair if I hog you all to myself-” the words paused abruptly as Echo clasped one hand over Wrecker's mouth, leaning into his chest.
“Are you mad? I know I'm selfish.” Wrecker pouted, eye glistening.
“Wrecker-” Echo said, through contained laughter, looking up, “I do see everyone. But I'd like to see you a bit more than them-” He looped arms together over the back of Wrecker's head and whispered, “I'd also like to be pounded into the mattress at least once if you're amenable.”
Wrecker's hands on his hips twitched before he was grasping them gently, pulling Echo against him.
“Yeah?” he asked. Hopeful.
“Yeah.” Echo purred, leaning up and kissing him. He tasted sweet and salty. Probably from the pastries on the table at the house and the sea breeze. Wrecker returned the kiss.
Greedily.
And it was perfect.
It had been awhile and they were both half hard by the time they broke away from each other. Echo sighed, regretting the loose pants now. It was obvious what they had been doing.
Wrecker grinned then and Echo tried to pull away from the glint in his eye but Wrecker held him firmly.
“Wrecker…”
“Can't leave any evidence behind Echo. Number one rule.”
Echo fought as he was lifted off his feet, “You blow things up all the time-!!” He gave up trying to pull away and instead started to scramble closer as Wrecker who walked them to the edge.
In a last ditch effort he yelled, “ These legs don't work in water.”
Wrecker chuckled, as he pulled Echo close. “You wanted me to hold you longer anyway.”
And tipped them both into the water.
Echo's sputters were lost in the waves.
Not that he minded.
He kissed Wrecker again as he clung to him. Maybe he wasn't home as much as he liked.

He just had to get through drills tomorrow and then he would figure out how to get through the rest of the leave unbothered.
It wasn't that he wanted to lie to his brothers about his heat. He had been around for Crosshair's and Hunter's, the mated alpha pair of Clone Force 99, last rut leave. He knew the Batch were kind towards one another during these times. Wrecker, a beta, had been the one ferrying items to the alphas to keep some distance between them and Tech and Echo, the two omegas. Tech kept everything up to date and operational while the sergeant was occupied, and Echo helped procure the things Wrecker brought to the pair.
Echo wondered if the alpha pair would be happy to provide him the same care in this time. He had to assume they would be okay with it at least. Tech wasn't marked, and given his age— surely he had gone through at least a handful of heats that the alpha pair must have supported him through and come through unclaimed. Whether that was by the engineer's choice or by the alphas', Echo didn't know and didn't want to ask.
He only scrunched up in his hammock a little tighter, rubbing his own faded mark. Echo didn't want a new bite, a new partner, a new anything. He just wanted Fives.
… but nothing could bring him back.
