Today on Wrecks’s Neighborhood News, my neighbor is currently mowing his driveway.
His driveway.
His gravel driveway.
Which has no grass.
Because it’s gravel.
He’s mowing it.

Oh, goody. The sky’s turning green. I’m sure that’s nothing to worry about.
Do you ever wonder what kind of character you are in another person’s story?
I have a linen smock I’m finishing up for a Renaissance faire later this year, and this morning I was in the breakroom working on the hem. A coworker I rarely see because we work in different departments asked me what I was making.
Without missing a beat, I said “medieval underwear” as I stuffed the garment back in my bag before I returned to work, and did not provide any further context.
I can’t help but wonder what that must’ve looked like from the other side.
I also feel like there should’ve been a laugh-track as I walked out the door.
“I do not negotiate with terrorists,” I say as my cat screams at me from the hallway because I refuse to leave the bathroom door open while I shower.
It’s really rude that the solution to 90% of my problems is “get more sleep” and “drink more water.”
I really need to get better about scheduling maintenance days for myself.
Weird noises out in the woods tonight.
Why must I go to work?
Is it not enough for the universe that I’m awake and coherent?
