I just read the prisoners throne ch.1 and you’re telling me that Cardan and Oak have beef?

Since when did this happen cuz last time we saw them they were happily eating dumplings together and now Oak thinks Cardan is actively plotting to kill him?!?! Holly what are you hiding from us?!?!

I need answers.

The Cruel Prince is like “Shocking! the guy who was always mean to her is actually falling for her!” 

And then Stolen Heir is like “shocking! the one person who most consistently treated her with kindness and compassion, and the one who actively sought out her friendship is actually falling for her!”

I found these photos on Holly Black's Pinterest board for The Cruel Prince quite early on in it. And I remembered how when Jude's hair horns are first mentioned they are described as ram horns- these are so cool!

I don't like to argue with people on here, especially not about fun stuff like The Folk of The Air! I like to share theories and discuss things but I don't want to directly respond to someone's post complaining about it so I'm just going to make my own little post :)

I've seen a lot of people being really passionate about advertising the fact that The Stolen Heir is Suren and Oak's books and being really annoyed about people being obsessed with possible Jurdan moments.

Firstly, I love the fact that Oak and Suren are such well written characters that they've inspired such loyalty after The Stolen Heir- I love them too and Ioved their book and I can't wait for the next one! I'm very lucky to get to enjoy their story! So this kind of response to seeing so much Jurdan talk is understandable, but I don't think it's fair.

Becuase it makes complete sense for people to be really excited about Jude and Cardan. These are incredible characters that we've loved for years and whilst The Stolen Heir + The Prisoner's Throne are stories in their own right they are also a continuation of The Folk of the Air series and they started in Jude and Cardan's story.

People obsessing over Jude and Cardan may annoy some people but it will not alter how Holly Black writes her books and it is not actually harmful to anyone.

So whilst 'manage your expectations for Jurdan content' is good advice, 'shut up about your favourite characters this isn't about them!' is a silly thing to be posting on a fandom website.

My advice: enjoy what you enjoy and let others enjoy what they enjoy- none of this discourse is hurtful to anyone and everyone should be able to obsess over the characters they want to obsess over :)
