Pov: after the child you've been trying to hide from your tormentor finally got their hands on them and turns them into a monster just like you so now you're trying to comfort them while definitely not crying because you failed to protect them

This is not canon to The wretched au it's just I think it would be messed up that Jax not wanting someone so young to end up like a monster like everyone else tries to prevent the inevitable and still felt awful that he couldn't stop something that was going to happen eventually
