I love your gif of Jodie, where is it from?
I assume you mean the gif on my sidebar? It’s from a bts video of her on set of My Mad Fat Diary. Sharon Rooney posted it on her IG forever ago and I just scrolled down really far to find it lol

Your post about Lauren was fantastic and accurate. Loved it. :) I'm intrigued on your views of the other characters. Bo, Tamsin, Trick and Hale.
aksdflksjdf come here and let me love you
OKAY, let’s see if I can do this justice.
Bo: oh, sweetie pie. The thing that most often strikes me is acting lessons, because I get seriously distracted by the, well, decent-but-not-great acting. Also, boobs. Homegirl is easy as hell on the eyes, just like Dyson (seriously, Dyson, if you’re not going to play the comedy role, just stand there and pretty, please).
But on a serious note: I have very mixed feelings about Bo. Part of me is perpetually irritated by her, not due to anything in particular regarding her character, but because the whole reluctant hero who everyone is loyal to trope is, well, a trope, and I’m tired of it. I think it could have been a much more interesting story to see Bo find out she’s fae, refuse and allegiance, and then go stomping around saving fae folkies dark and light until people started liking her. But alas… she is pretty ,she is powerful, she is mystically fated to do some crazy shit, so thus everyone likes her.
But on the other hand…I do like her. Like, throw me into Lost Girl land, and I would want to be friends with her, regardless of her powers. She’s kind, she’s stubborn, she’s snarky, she’s fun (she’s hot). She fights for the people she loves and believes the best in even strangers and refuses to pander to the centuries of discrimination so prevalent in the fae world, both against each other and against humans. She believes in the power of good as being that isn’t limited to humanity of faedom, she fights for the underdog because she realizes that being gifted with power isn’t the same as deserving it. She’s just an all around solid gal, and I like her.
I really wish that there were more interactions with her and Hale, really. It may seem weird, but thus far ,the people she’s interacted with most are those who want to bone her (Dyson, Lauren, and Tamsin to some extent), are related to her (Trick), or are so straight they’d never sleep with her (Kenzi). Hale, though, has never fully expressed anything more than the most superficial or fleeting attraction to her, and I’d really love to see how Bo reacts to having a friend who doesn’t want to sleep with her— and, more than that, someone who does like the v but just isn’t interested in hers. We see some very generic family loyalty in her interactions with Trick, and then some pretty generic interactions between her and Dyson/Lauren, and then some fabulous best-friendship-ever between her and Kenzi, but very little extended interactions with someone she knows and trusts and isn’t related to who also isn’t romantically interested in her.
Trick: I do not like Trick. I just…don’t. He’s manipulative and sneaky, and even though his heart seems to constantly be in the right place, I’ve always felt that he regards his own status as the Blood King as making him inherently the best decision maker for all of the people in his life— case in point: him not speaking up on the details of Dyson’s sacrifice in the dawning. He’s older and wiser than them, yes, but he’s also fully willing to lie to and manipulate all of them. Despite that, I feel like the writing is constantly trying to get me to love him like Bo loves him, to believe in him the way Dyson and Hale do, to trust him and depend on him like Kenzi does. I don’t think he’s trustworthy, which could make him interesting, but I also don’t think they’ve very sufficiently made me care about him enough to find him interesting at all.
Also, he’s not very funny. Kenzi is flamboyantly funny, Bo is snarky-funny, Hale is dry funny, Lauren is nerdy funny, Dyson is fucking hysterical when he’s bodyswapped/drunk/reverted to puberty!Dyson, but Trick just…isn’t. It’s like the try really hard to make him funny, but just fail. A lot.
Hale: I love Hale! And I miss him. Probably I love him so much because I miss him, really, because when he was around a lot he was a breath of levity to Dyson’s broodiness and a bit of calmness to Kenzi’s hyperactivity, and without that things are a little too topsy-turvy for me. I would watch an entire show about him becoming the ash, honestly, because I think that would be fabulous— it would be like on Nikita trying to change the corrupt Division from the inside out, except he’s less worried about inherent corruption and more concerned with inbred racism and classism and the like.
Like I’ve already said, I would love to see a development of the Bo/Hale dynamic. I would also love to see more of Hale and Kenzi getting in trouble, a la Tori and her coffee allergy. Or just, y’know, Hale being Hale and doing cop things and siren things and being suave and pretty and chill. Or arguing with his sister, because they were funny. Basically, I want more Hale, which I think means they’re doing something super correct with his character, because I’m tired of almost all of the other characters in one form or another.
Tamsin: but speaking of one I’m not tired of yet…hoo boy. Tamsin, baby, let me give you a hug, okay? I have this inherent weakness for the tormented maybe-evil badass with a decent heart characters, and Tamsin is no exception.
For starters, I love sass, and snark, and sarcasm, and Tamsin has them all in spades. I love her confidence, which is very different from Bo’s or Kenzi’s— Tamsin’s confidence is very much the I-am-a-badass-bitch-and-you-want-me-and-we-all-know-it type, whereas Bo’s is all “I’m nice and hot!” and Kenzi is all “I’m scrappy as fuck, yo”.
Tamsin is a beast and she is 100% aware of both her strengths and her weaknesses. She’s a beast and she can thrown down with most everyone and everything thrown at her, but she’s also fully self-aware of her own weaknesses— one of which, I’m sure, is that she’s got a kind heart and she’s desperately lonely. The last episode demonstrated it well enough when this lady who was like her mentor, her best friend, showed up out of nowhere and Tamsin was totally shocked to see her: she has friends, she has people she cares about and people who care about her, but they’re never together. You could see her fear and concern and desperation when the Wanderer tarot cards were showering down on her, how much she didn’t want to have to deliver Bo (to Odin, I’m assuming?). It could be that they’re going to make Tamsin yet another one of the People Confessed By Bo (please excuse my LoTS reference, but it seems very fitting) and throw her into the pit with Dyson and Lauren (and okay, I would love to see Tamsin have a fighting chance at love and happiness, though for some weird as hell reason I ship the living hell out of her and Kenzi, even though I’ve never ever shipped Kenzi with another lady, because SO MUCH SASS).
But even if Tamsin isn’t in love with Bo, she’s still already gone against her nature and her calling to protect Bo, and it wasn’t until her friend’s severed hand was delivered in a box to her at a police precinct that she acted against Bo— and even then, we still don’t know how that’s going to play out. Bo is perpetually picking up angry birds with broken wings— hello, anyone remember Vex?— and I would really love to see that play out in this situation because Tamsin is one of the only people besides Kenzi who’s been more than ready to call Bo out on her shiznit before.
Long and short of it is, I very much love Tamsin, and if she doesn’t wind up sticking around for a lot longer I will be pissed. That they kept Vex around as long as they did (I still miss him and his ridiculousness) gives me hope, as they’ve gone a hell of a lot further into developing Tamsin in-depth than they did him and hopefully that means they’re intending to keep her around, but it’s possible they’re going to Joss her soon. Which would suck so haaaaard.
And you didn’t ask, but…the Morrigan and Lachlan. I love(d) them both madly and wanted them around forever to sass and sneer at people. FOREVER.
