wriothesley flinches the first time you touch his scars. his callous hands suddenly balled up into fists and his usually gentle gaze turned into a death stare. it isn’t until you call out to him where he immediately snaps out of it, shaking his head and loosening his grip.

he doesn’t have the heart to even place a finger on you but that… scared him. he could see how frightened you were, the fear in your eyes. and yet, you talked him through it, gentle words to help him calm down.

you know he’s no monster, it was just reflex. a defense mechanism of some sort from his past. despite serving his sentence, moments like that remind him that deep down inside, there might still be something he’s trying to bury. he’ll stop worrying for now, you were there smiling at him.

it will go away eventually, with time and your love.
