If you're still up for Scout in situations, mayhaps Scout without what he(might)'s the most proud of? Dummy broke a leg after falling wrong on Badwater and Medic's refussing to use the medigun due to his(Scout's) own recklessness so he has to stay in bed for like- two weeks (grounded, almost literally)
(Thank you for reminding me to turn anon asks on again! I had that turned off because of some people harassing me over anon messages, but I don't think that'll happen again so I don't see why I need to keep it off.)
Agh, yeah, I really like this idea! Leg injuries have always been a favorite of mine angst-wise, and considering Scout's whole thing is his legs, it's fun to play with specifically for him. To be honest, I think that if Scout were to break his leg, I think he'd be far more inclined to try braving through it first, making it worse, than to immediately suck up to Medic trying to get it fixed? I kinda imagine he's surprisingly good at ignoring leg-related injuries because he had to overexert them ad nauseam to get so good at running. Maybe he has a shin splint that he's been pushing through to do his job, and eventually, it causes a stress fracture, so that's why Medic decides not to heal it? Maybe it can't even be healed in the first place!
(If you can't tell, I really like "snowball" injuries-- injuries caused by a lack of care for oneself, or bigger injuries caused by much smaller, more manageable ones.)
ANYWHO, ignoring all of that, Scout stuck in bed is also pretty interesting to me in a way. I imagine that he hates staying in one place for a certain amount of time, which causes him to not really sleep often, fueling his caffeine addiction, so for him to be forced to stay in one place is kinda funny. Maybe he tries getting up anyway, tries walking around despite the fact his leg is broken, and he gets shooed back to bed by another mercenary? He gets so stir-crazy that the other mercs visit him in his room, playing card games or doing puzzles with him to try and cure his unyielding need to do something with himself, and even then it barely works. What if he does manage to get outside, to try and walk around, but regrets it and has to have someone drag him back to base? The possibilities are limitless for this kind of prompt, and its one of the things that I rotate in my mind when I daydream.
