Count on it.
Bet on it.
Wait on it.
Work for it.
It was a simple moment of transparency. The hero said he couldn't stand up after rescuing the child. Many athletes and scientists would dismiss it as the body's normal response to similar levels of spontaneous adrenaline deployment. But the thing that made my nose prickle as I read is that a man without a country hoisted himself up four stories for someone else's son. He did the impossible for the unlikely in a gesture as supernatural as it was Christly. I believe it was the power of Love that gave him strength to do what he could not do otherwise. That the orphan in him rose to the abandoned child's aid selflessly, without hesitation, indifferent to the air of what must have been palpable fear of those gathered below, is the true miracle. May each of us so rise to the occasion and do what is required when no one else is around to record or witness as we meet every lesser need that makes itself known.
A little random, but I had a dream...
I had the weirdest dream. Drake, Lecrae, Andy Mineo and some other people were fixing our apartment’s balcony!! :”’D Andy Mineo was skateboarding there and having a good time. For construction workers they were really slacking. Someone said “lunch on Crae” and they all left and got lunch. They came back to eat their lunch on the balcony and that was when I went out to chat with them. I tried so hard not to laugh at the fact that Drake was sitting at the head of the table, in the same pose he’s in on his Take Care album cover. I think he read my mind though, because he turned into some sort of Drake-ula and, as a punishment, sent me through a door into a virtual video game (it kinda looked like a leggo maze) with a “good luck’ that sounded like he had just thrown me into the lion’s den. Lecrae and Andy Mineo were still just eating, they looked at me and gestured as if to say “don’t worry, it’s horrible in there, but you’ll get out for sure”… I don’t know how I got all that from a look, but it was a dream, so… you know… LOL. I went in and the first phase seemed really easy and even fun. As I completed it, a whole bunch of young people joined me at the finish line; they had been waiting for me to get there so the REAL “game” - this supposedly exciting but dangerous game- could start… and it did. We were split into teams and given a map. And of course we had to compete against each other, and a clock. The first task was to find what had been referred to as our teams’ “thrones”… it would be our home plate I guess; our headquarters, where we would be given further instruction and guidance. While searching for this “throne” we had to go through some rooms, disturb a couple of people, crawl, squeeze climb, and of course RUN! I had the map, but I had fallen behind. When I had almost caught up with my team, I got caught by a guy who I assume was some sort of bouncer or gangster; he was brandishing a gun. I tried to negotiate, but in his mind his arguments (which were rather senseless) outweighed mine, so I started complimenting him instead. See guy ooo! He dropped the gun and smiled, started flexing his muscles, turning around, giggling… And then he left! He walked away giggling and just left! LOL! Anyway… I took the gun, climbed up a diagonal rope bridge, to a platform and chained the gun to the floorboard. Then I set off on my quest to find the rest of my team, who were probably lost because I had the map. That’s when I woke up… While I was typing this out, I started to realize that it wasn’t JUST a fun dream. There was meaning to it; I’m in awe. No wonder Habakkuk says to write down the vision. I’m going to speak to the Holy Spirit about this now… Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed my dream :) - A. M. Dakpo
