New WIP!

Excitedly sharing my new WIP! I’ve been plotting this for about 3 weeks now and I think I’m finally ready to dive into drafting it for @nanowrimo​ next month! (I may start writing a bit early but that’s okay, shhh, don’t tell anyone.)

Working Title: Golem (first of a projected trilogy)

Genre/Market: Fantasy/Science Fiction, Adult

Pitch: 

In the past, Angels walked through the land of Ennu. Everywhere they touched, the world changed. There are magic places in the land – locations where the Angels walked and left behind a bit of their spirit. There are other legends, too: that the Angels did not walk the land but battled on it, or that the magic places are where the angels died. No one has ever seen an Angel, after all. Who could prove them wrong?

The magic places are all kinds of sizes. Some are smaller than the stride of an adult, and you could step in and out of one in a second. Some are miles and miles wide, encompassing the span of great cities and open land. The people move toward these magic spots and seek them out – not everyone is receptive enough to manipulate the magic that the Angels supposedly left behind, but it is considered good luck to live in the magic areas, and sometimes spontaneous miracles occur.

Only, the miracles are getting worse. And the Angels are coming back.

24th May: INTRODUCTION: Summary: A brief run down on who I am and which stories I planned on using for the event.

25th May: CHARACTER DAY: Summary: Moodboards and short intros for my MC Rosa and two side characters, Sere and Ollet.

26th May: ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP DAY: Summary: The stories themselves don’t include any romance, so I’ve made a moodboard about Sere’s relationship with Rissa, who isn’t in either story. I also included a very short explanation of how they met.

27th May: NON-ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP DAY: Summary: Some descriptions of how the three featured characters relate to people, and each other.

28th May: QUOTE DAY: Summary: For this day I used the opening line of Loose Teeth, as well as an image for said quote.

29th May: MUSIC DAY: Summary: Here I’ve shared what music styles I associate with my characters.

30th May: PICTURES DAY: Summary: I’d already shared character aesthetics, so for this day I posted a map and some pen sketches of the setting, Tenibaru.

31th May: FREE DAY: Summary: Last day! At the end I posted about a couple of the creatures in my world, the Resochi and the Vanabera Agamid.

NaNoWriMo Day 16

Word Count: 12,131

Words Written Today: 1,892

How I’m Feeling: I have rarely written 1k words in a day, and never on a school day, but today I doubled that. I’m so pumped for tomorrow, when I will be participating in @writeblrconnections word crawl!

 “The darkness is here,” I read aloud, shifting the leather-bound book in my hands, “and it has forced us to flee. I did not want to, but our palace is not safe. We are weaker than the Aeldradai, and we will be attacked, it is only a matter of time. One was here earlier, and one of the Liinhar was killed. It is still here, and we haven’t got long. This is war, a war we are not ready for.” I stopped, my eyes drifting ahead on the page.

“Jackson? What’s wrong?” Tyler asked, worry seeping into his tone. He worried too much. I was certain it would be the death of him, one day.

“Nothing,” I replied, wishing I didn’t sound like I was about to cry. We’re just so close to finding him, I added in my head.

God, what kind of person cries when they’re happy?

I shook my head away as if the physical motion could shake the thoughts out of my head, and kept reading. “The Aeldradai are better prepared. They have weaponry and magic. However, they have lost the TK sword, Caille. She can save us all, with the proper wielder.

“May the God bless our people with survival.”
