The vision was so clear that I started writing an Au of my main CanonxOc fic that I haven't even posted yet💀. An Au of an Au, in which "they couldn't become lovers earlier, because one of them got(forcibly) married to someone else, then cut contact with friends and family, only for them to come back years later divorced, with a child hoping to reconnect, so they could at least be friends again."

I have to get this story into the docs before I GENUINELY start tweaking out over something that only exists in my mind. 😭

Being a writer is so weird bc we reread our work and, as for me, I'll look to certain sentences and ask myself what the heck is that about, how did i come up with that, shouldn't i delete that?

And then my brain goes back and remembers "oh this had a reason to be here, right" like 0.12 seconds before i erase everything.

hey all - just wanted to put up a quick post about my Band of Brothers multi-chapter fics. I haven’t updated several of them in months and though I don’t think I’ll be abandoning any of them, it’s going to be slow-going for a while. I’ve been focusing more on my original novel lately, as well as other creative pursuits, and my fanfics have kind of fallen to the wayside.

to be completely transparent, one of the main reasons I’ve had less and less creative energy to spare for my fics is that, from what I can tell, nobody wants to read them anymore. my last update of DCAW has 1 note and it’s from me reblogging it tonight in the hopes someone - anyone - might see it. I’ve seen it happen over and over again to many of writing mutuals and now to myself and it’s more than disheartening. for months now I’ve felt like there’s this outside pressure that’s actually opposed to me continuing to write my fics because of how painfully empty my notes have been. not even the bots will like my posts these days.

anyway, all this to say I probably won’t be updating any of my fics regularly (if at all) other than Destiny Carries a Wrench. I’m hoping to revisit Cobblestones soon as well but this week has proven much more stressful than anticipated, so it might be a little while before a new chapter of that comes out. It’s an important one, too (D-Day) so I want to make sure it ends up the way I want it to. Same goes for There Goes My Flight. I have many plans for that fic but not much time to work on it and even less motivation to start.

Look, I didn’t need this. A FULL ON DWP FIC THAT BLOOMED IN MY HEAD IN ITS ENTIRETY THE FIRST TIME I HEARD MY TEARS RICOCHET.

I’m already neck-deep in WIPs - or hadn’t you heard that OBaaT is still unfinished and that I’ve started a Dravasarala Expanse story that’s been reassuring me I can still actually write during a full-on global pandemic?

I took notes on my PHONE for this Mirandy fic, for fuck’s sake. So many of them, in fact, that over 2k words are sitting in a little note app. Already.

And then I hear the song again just now and, VOI-FUCKING-LA, the ending changes! Changes so completely that I was chills from head to toe! I had to go add more notes!

Oh, and did I mention how much angst this story is going to contain? I mean, my house rules still stand, but shit. This thing is fucking ripping my heart out, okay?

And don’t even start about how all three WIPs are basically a triptych of May/December Mentor/Protege Praise!Kink stories. I know. I KNOW.

Do you know Lori Petty? Did the two of you cook this up together somehow? I wouldn’t put it past TankedMuse (the Lori-Petty-as-Tank-Girl-shaped Muse that has lived with me for 25 years now) to have reached out, especially since I have been actively AVOIDING the Mirandy fandom because it’s just a little predictable for me, isn’t it? I mean, come on.

Then @xvnot15 posted all those Mirandy fics helpfully broken out by trope/topic. And then @chilly-flame wrote several brilliant hurt/comfort Mirandy fics that I had never read because I was avoiding the entire fandom, and then, well, I was fucked.

So... All of this to say THANK YOU, because this is the first album I have ever in my whole life pre-ordered, which I did because of its absolutely historic nature, and then it turns out it’s freaking brilliant. You’re brilliant. Truly. 

I mean, I knew you were good but this is next level shit.

I have a lot of albums of yours to buy now. Luckily, I have the means to do it, too.

And thank you to @xvnot15 and @chilly-flame, too. Sharp Relief and By Heart were both decadent brilliance and I don’t think I could have reasonably expected stories so perfectly suited to me had I given you the prompts myself.

(And don’t think you’re getting out of anything here, @fictorium. Your AO3 page with all your Mirandy is bookmarked on my iPad, waiting.) 

And finally, thank you to @fullmetalswift, whose post about Folklore and how it was being released let me know it was even a thing. If I hadn’t have seen that post with the link to Taylor’s page, I wouldn’t have pre-ordered the album and I wouldn’t be where I am now - which is basically overflowing with writing ideas, something I legitimately thought was in my past. 

So, thank you. To all of you.

HTTYD: RttE

I need to rant. If needed, I also posted a reference of the HTTYD Map recently, so check that out.

So, RttE, first season, a big deal is made out of never having gone past the boarders of the Barbaric Archipelago into the Great Beyond and while writing the next part of TDoDE, I (as a visual person) took another look at the map and wanted to bang my head on the table, repeatedly.

Literally, they just went to Glacier Island to get a Snow Wraith’s tooth. Glacier Island, the Freakin island further northeast than Outpost Island (Dragon’s Edge).  How the ever loving fuck have they not been beyond the boarders when Glacier Island is further out than Melody Island?! And what about all the other islands between Melody Island and Outpost Island?  How were they missed?! Dreamworks, why did you screw with me?  Why?!

The only explanation is that the Dragon Riders get very, very lost or there are things at play that we don’t know of because there is no way I can possible explain how they’ve never been beyond the fog bank heading towards Melody Island when they’ve already been to Glacier Island.  (And I am not touching how close Outpost Island is to Valka’s Mountain with a ten foot poll.)
