Hes approached people about stranger things. This was still high on that list no doubt. But he couldn’t move on without knowing where it was. A little over a hundred years of mementos and memories were stowed away in a lock box in the bathroom air vent. Memories that could be so easily thrown away or sold to thrift stores.
The thought of it made Hal sick to his stomach but he maintained himself flawlessly, “I just wanted to see if you found it and still had it or not. Or, if you hadn’t found it, if you could maybe let me get it- or not, you can get it of course, I’d understand.” Honestly, he shouldn’t be there. If the neighbors saw him they would surely be making a call or two.
