I'm thinking no one read the follow up post

Since I've had a like and a reblog of the "I'm going to write a coding solution to my problem" post and then no responses to the "yeah, I'm not going to write a coding solution to my problem" post, I think people aren't reading the entire story.

Because I am definitely not going to write a coding solution to a problem when the solution isn't going to fucking well solve my problem.

I mean - I enjoy coding, but not when it's TOTALLY FUCKING POINTLESS. I have better things to do with my life than write a program that is LITERALLY NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING TO MAKE MY LIFE BETTER.

I'm not stupid. (Well clearly that's not true but I'm not THAT stupid)

Fuck the fucking fuckity fuck

The export function doesn't export the parenthesis. Which given I use them for comedy value (translating droid beeps and wookie GWRRRRRLs for example) means that my previous plan is buggered.

So it looks like I am either back to manually formatting html or manually formatting the script before I cut and paste it.

Either way it's going to be kind of annoying and a little frustrating, given it's 90,000 words and around 450 pages.

Ao3, Formatting and an odd solution

So you can export from WriterSolo to CSV, which is a weird thing to export to, it gives you things like "Action", "A girl walks into the dining room and sits down", or "Scene", "INT. DINING ROOM, ADDAMS HOUSE, BLACKPOOL" or "HERMIONE GRANGER","You know if you go to the moon you are drunk?"

So me - being the lunatic person I am - thinks I can write a bit of software to parse all this and put basic html tags around this.

Which would allow me to paste it into the Ao3 HTML formatting section.

I know it seems like a lot of work - writing an entire application to do this - but I'm pretty sure this won't be the last screenplay I write, so it will be a long term investment.

Plus - you know - fun!
