The small bouquet of dazzling blue irises and pure white daisies offered to her was surprising, though not unwanted. She hadn’t known Yugami long, and certainly didn’t know her very well as of yet, but she felt like she could trust her. 

“Faith... and hope, you said?” She repeated just those meanings back to the girl with verdant curls standing before her, and couldn’t help an embarrassed smile from forming. Things she’d always hoped others would see in her, or have in her.

“It means a lot, coming from a friend. Maybe I am where I’m supposed to be after all.”

    NEJIRE SUPPRESSES A GIGGLE when she asks. It doesn’t actually matter if Subeto had time right now or not, Nejire had some words she needed to exchange with the woman. Not in a bad way or anything, but she wasn’t going to let her off the hook either. She smiles at her, holding a small stack of papers.

    “ WE’VE GOT SOME THINGS we need to sort out, orders straight from our Bird Boss himself! Hey, how bout we find some place to sit down and get to it? Have you had lunch yet? ”

27. If your character had one thing to say to their parents before they died, what would it be?

To his mother: He’d apologize for harboring hatred for her all those years. He hasn’t forgiven her, but having lived to nearly become her, he understands her actions far better with hindsight than he ever did as a kid. He would tell her he felt sorry for her.

To his father: “Goodbye you piece of shit.”

28. Are they afraid of death? Do they have any regrets?

It is less that he fears death and more that he plans on staying alive for quite some time longer. He’s already died, by Overhaul’s hand, and though there is still the survival instinct within him that tells him to avoid getting his head chopped off, the edge has more or less been taken off. He’s not running to get himself killed anytime soon, but he’s settled on the thought that if something were to happen to him, dying can’t be any worse the second time around.

As for regrets: Allowing his ex-wife to take custody of Maiko, and to shut him out of her life.

29. Does your character get restless when things are too quiet or do they favor solitude and silence? Why?

He generally prefers to be in the company of others, though when his tolerance for people runs dry, he has no issues with solitude. He’s a man who adapts easily.
