Don't have much room to comment on the presidential candidates other than from my own standpoint.
If you look at just the surface level of these candidates and the position of power itself, I feel that you can make a decent judgement on your candidate. Without going too in depth into Sanders and Trump's policies you can make a judgement however shallow it may be. But there may be some merit behind that.
Trump is openly advocating a system of prejudice, racist discrimination, fear, and maybe borderline totalitarian or authoritarian principle. Trump seems to be encircled by drama and open social attacks on those around him who seem to disagree with him. Trump throughout the election has created enough social drama to rival that of a gossip teen queen who does nothing more than perpetuate rumors. Regardless of Trump's business successes or blunders, who he has fucked over or how wealthy he made himself through effort - this is a man who would be holding one of the most powerful positions on this planet.
The Presidential office is the figure-head and face of the United States of America. The United States of America since its birth has become the predominant force of security and intellectual progress across the globe. Despite the amount of wars that this nation has perpetuated or been a part of, despite the mentality of its citizens or the developments within it - this nation is a concrete stamp on this planet. The influence of this nation that we are fortunate enough to live in is vastly beyond our ability to conceptualize it and rationalize it. The history of this nation and how it has affected the world maintains that its leader will continue to influence the world through his or her speech and actions.
With these claims, I'm arguing that we shouldn't look at a candidate's issues, stances, lenience to the left or right or to an era of peace or to an era of fear. I'm arguing that we should picture this person as the head of the most powerful nation on the globe. Throw away conspiracy theories and the justifications of the checks and balances of the Congress, Senate, and the Presidential office for the sake of discussion and interpretation. The next President will take this mantle as those have before him, and this is the person who's face and body will represent the American people worldwide. This man or woman's dialogues and policies will represent this nation.
I, a 25 year old white male, cannot argue for either Sanders or Trump. I feel that truthfully my vote does not make a difference. I haven't begun to look into their policies further than the surface level. Just by taking a glance at each of the candidates and what I have heard about them and what seems to be true I feel that I can make my judgement. While not a favorable approach, I stand with my judgement in that I do not want either Trump or Sanders for president. Sanders, as Ron Paul, does not hold the same aura of command and authority that Barack Obama easily retains. Trump, on the other hand, could probably have me silenced just for voicing my opinion. And if he held the office, I'd better not speak of this again and I'd most certainly make sure that I never converted to Islam.
I'm unsure of what's going to happen in the next four to eight years, but I cannot make an impact so I'm going to go back to playing video games and focusing on my studies.
