Help a fic writer out: 5 Sentence Fics
So I've been having a hard time keeping up a steady pace for writing since I got my full time job last September (hey, though, today marks 6 full months with this job, and from the sounds of it, they all love me there, so I'm pretty damned secure, which is such a HUGE relief after all the depressing job hunting that went nowhere before this job snagged me up!). I managed to work through the Secret Santa events I co-mod with one of my besties, but as proud of those fics as I am, I'm still pretty disappointed that not everyone in those events who gets gifted a creative work responds with kudos and comments (essentially thank yous!) to the people who gift them art or fics. So to say that it's put a damper on my writing since then is an understatement. I've been feeling kind of blocked, esp since fandom response to fics these days is so abysmal - you readers aren't OWED free fics and art, you know, and all the authors and artists are asking for in payment of any kind is to leave kudos and positive comments and to REBLOG them here on Tumblr. Is that really so hard for y'all?
Anyway, so I really want to get my writing mojo back, and the fics I've been playing with want to be written but my brain is pretty battered and blue and tired, esp with the job schedule I have that doesn't always leave me tons of time to write, so what I'm hoping for is a little boost from y'all to get me going again. I'm going to post some prompt lists on here, and I would love it if y'all tossed some of those prompts my way with pairs you'd like to see. I'm going to try and do these as 5 Sentence Fics because that's a nice little snack in a way, both for you and for me, and will hopefully get that creative spice flowing again. That work for y'all? Keep in mind there are some fandoms I'm not into at all, some that I watch/read but I don't write, and in the fandoms I'm heavily into, there are definitely ships I'll write and ones that I will think about and for certain ones that are big nopes. Same with tropes and subject matters. But I'd give you the heads up if your requests skirts into those zones. I will also write platonic character pairings as well. I'll post up several lists with quite a few prompts. Tell me which prompt list it's from, which number, and then the characters/pairings/fandom. I don't accept anons. I'd say sorry about that, but the hate asks I've gotten in the past override my empathy toward the need for anons.
