The problem about this summer is that I need to write. I want to write. I have to revise a thesis proposal and push further in my research, but I also want to write stories. I want to write about young love and reunions, but I also want to write about high fantasy and adventure. Too many ideas are flowing through my head. How can I possibly fit them all into 3 months of summer while also moving house? Well, I guess I write every day and when I get bored of one, I change tactics. I work on my proposal and then write for an hour with a cup of tea within my reach. I work on my proposal and then write for thirty minutes with a glass of wine. I will listen to movie soundtracks and gaze out of the car windows on road trips, dreaming of what my characters would do if they were on a journey. 

I’ll read On Writing by Stephen King. 

I’ll read about resource management for my proposal.

I’ll read and create what Neil Gaiman says, “a little bit of prose with something wrong with it,” and call it a novel (American Gods, preface for the 10th Anniversary edition).

And maybe I’ll post about it here.

I'm still pretty sore, but it's going to be time to hit the gym this afternoon. My car is currently being inspected. I still have at least a page of my writing proposal to write and a synopsis of it... and some editing to do. Then, I must print it out and get a folder, put the address on it and get it to the post office and overnight that sh*t.

After that, life will be much simpler until I decide to do some job searching.

Overachiever Regret

I wrote a total of 16 pages (not including the title page and references) for my teacher research proposal. He asked for 10-12 pages. I hope I don't get in trouble.
