It’s 2035. Most of humanity is dead, but the internet is still going. Posts on Reddit with hundreds of comments. Articles of people’s top ten favorite holiday desserts. Pictures of people laughing on vacation against the backdrop of a bright blue sea.

You respond to the first message me you see excitedly. But it doesn’t take you long to realize that none of this people are real. The internet didn’t die with the rest of the world, because it hadn’t been alive in the first place.
