Shout out for papers on Afrofuturism!

This is a call for submissions to our Afrofuturism Unconference coming up this October. We are accepting papers, comics, art, visual essays, short stories for our e-journal and speakers, performance art, poetry and short films for the event which will be a whole day event starting with seminars, talks and workshops culminating in music and performance in the evening. Issue 7 status report

Hello & good evening! 

As of today (12-19-2014), issue 7 has 2 submissions thus far. A typical issue has around 7-8 contributors, so we're still looking for 5-6 more folks to join us for the very first issue of 2015 and the 7th issue of the zine.

Prior works, including things published elsewhere, make for fine submissions (as long as you have retained permission to do so).

New works can be about anything you want, but for your creative enjoyment, we have a set of creative prompts for you to choose from:

fate

birds

harbingers/monsters

Also, it would be very exciting to get some more non fiction writing. Essays, how to, reviews, etc. The turn of the year is a good opportunity to cover "2014 in review" topics. 

In order to publish by January 9th, it would be ideal to have submissions in by January 2nd. (Maybe you could get your creation on during New Year's and drop that off?)

A 2-3 sentence "about me" blurb

Have you read issue 6 yet? We had a lot of great, challenging material in that issue. Definitely looking forward to what issue 7 will hold.
