one step at a time
River didn’t really like all the noise.
That's probably why they weren’t at home and were out walking. walking. walking where exactly. actually no, they didn't care. why would they be bothered? As long as there was no Jennies or Layton’s, they were ok.
The view was quite something, River had to admit. The road was full of modern buildings seemingly travelling endlessly into the sky. Endless. If only everything was endless. however, with the sun setting in the distance, buildings were more like silhouettes when they got a certain distance away. river quite enjoyed that.
“she’s a bitch, ain’t she”
oh god fucking dammit.
River turned their head to acknowledge the blonde ass hippie looking fucker walking toward them. It was a nice few minutes, while it lasted?
“always yippin on, I swear she could find a flaw with the fucking... whatever you call that graph... the one that looks like an arse?” river nodded “yeah, well that.”
river took a moment, interacting with good ole blonde Connor Murphy would mean stopping this walk. He would never last walking round, perhaps a coffee shop? No, that's not layton’s kind of thing. Maybe a comic store? there was one just a short walk from here.
River looked up to ask Layton but spotted something much more important behind his shoulder. They tapped the taller boy (which River finds very offensive) to try and get them to look around.
“LAYTON yOu CUnT”
Fuck.
“OH lookie here it’s our very own ALANA”
River sighed. for the millionth time. this hour.
was there something they could do that the two would both enjoy? A logic based video game? Any films?
River was usually good at this. why weren’t they good at this? Why weren’t they good enough?
wait,
they walked over to the two and stomped their foot, the only way to get the attention of the two when arguing and pointed out a poster on a bus stop. It was for a comedy based around this overthinker. They thought it sounded good.
Layton looked at them blankly while Jenny raised an eyebrow.
that was a bad idea. a bad idea. why couldn't he stop having bad ideas.
“that looks good” Jenny stated, she looked reasonably pleased
“yeah, ok” Layton didn't look as down for it. River fucked it. They fucked it.
but hey, they did shut them up?
