Written Statement

Throughout my artworks, I illustrate personal memories and dreams that have shaped me as a person and have also influenced my life. I experiment with different mediums such as oil paint, gouache, and watercolor to give each artwork its own story and individuality, shaping the message I want to portray in each piece. My artwork explores the theme: memory and the effect various memories have had on my identity.  Some are strong and vibrant and some darker and filled with gaps.  While painting my artworks I felt myself drifting into a place that I thought I would never revisit in my head. My paintings helped me relive lost memories that I used to hold dearly and others that I wished I hadn’t.
