Prompt: Paint

"Can I see yet?" James asked, trying to lean over and see what Regulus was painting.
"No, James. I told you it will take a while," Regulus said, small paint brush flying from the canvas to the paint pallet. They were in the art room, hiding from the chilly air that everyone else was fighting outside.
"Why does it have to take a while?" James asked, sighing and leaning back in the chair.
"Because I'm putting effort into it," Regulus sighed. "Come closer again. I need to see your eyes."
James grinned, leaning forward until their noses were almost touching. Regulus sucked in a quick breath, frozen under his gaze. He never could maintain eye contact for long though.
"That's good," he said, tearing his eyes away.
James didn't move.
"I— I've got it," Regulus said again. "I know what I paint now."
"I know," James said, still grinning. He didn't move.
Regulus scowled, blushing. He shifted so the canvas was between them, and James finally sighed and fell back in his chair.
"How much longer do we have?" Regulus asked, mind spinning. James glanced at his watch.
"Half an hour until next lesson," he said.
Regulus took a deep breath, gathering his nerve.
"I don't have to finish this today. And I'm sure there are some more… interesting things we could be doing," he said, cheeks pinking. He risked a glance over at James, and saw that his eyebrows were sky high.
"If you want to…" He said. Regulus nodded.
"Just to clarify," James said. "You're talking about kissing. Yes?"
Regulus nodded again.
"Whatever you want," James grinned.
