CALLING ALL HERCULES NERDS!!!!!
Alan Menken, the beautiful composer that he gave Meg another song when it was adapted for the stage. Sadly, there is no cast recording yet.
HOWEVER
Benjamin Rauhala, who is an amazing medley writer and pianist, does this thing called “Broadway Princess Party” with Laura Osnes. They also have one for princes and one for villains, that includes gay Gaston and Tarzan singing in German, but that’s another post. Anyway, a few months ago, Krysta Rodriguez made an appearance at the Princess party because she is the on-stage Meg. She sang a couple of different things, but only two of them are important for this post.
The first one is “Forget About It” which is the new song Alan Menken wrote for the stage production
The second one is absolutely amazing and cool because it’s two Megs for the price of one. Krysta Rodriguez singing “I Won’t Say I’m In Love” with Susan Egan, the original voice for Meg from the 1997 animated movie. She was also the original Belle on Broadway and her voice hasn’t aged a day
I realize nobody else is ever going to see this because it’s me posting something that isn’t a reblog
Sydney and Lil’ Lucie in “Let Her Be a Child” Korea, 2014
I really love this blocking. Having Lucie come in to say prayers with Carton makes the scene ten times sadder!!!!! AND THE WAY HE HUGS HER. Book flashbacks anyone??? “YOU’LL DO SOMETHING TO SAVE PAPPA, TO HELP MAMMA” *falls down in tears*
also, this Carton is really good and I wish I could see his full performance! #theatrefanproblems
You ever just have a moment where you’re so used to writing for another fandom, that when you finally write for another, you have the urge to call the protagonist by the OTHER protagonist’s name?
