Results Part 2
So we tied a personal best at the WSC and finished 4th overall!!! There was a bit of a gap between us and the US for third, but I’m still happy we came so close to finishing on the podium!

Results Part 2
So we tied a personal best at the WSC and finished 4th overall!!! There was a bit of a gap between us and the US for third, but I’m still happy we came so close to finishing on the podium!
Results
I finished in 16th place! If I didn’t make any silly mistakes (and everything else stayed the same), I would have finished in 14th. It’s another top 20 finish, and my teammate finished in 19th, joining me in the top 20!
Round 15 (Team Round 5)
This round was a disaster! No one finished on time which paused the clock. I didn’t get one of my assigned individual sudokus as the instructions weren’t very good. It seems like a lot of others failed to solve it though. We managed the team samurai using the logic from the earlier sudokus. It was a frustrating end to the team part of the competition.
Round 14 (Team Round 4)
This was a sticker sudoku set and our team passed around 6 sudokus and had 90 seconds to solve our portion with stickers. We solved 5 of them but not a difficult irregular sudoku that required everyone to do their part. We are probably out of the running for a podium finish.
Round 13 (Team Round 3)
We did well to work through connected sudokus (17 in total). I don’t remember how much time we were given but we finished with 13 minutes left and felt fairly confident that we got them all.
And as an aside, we got interviewed by a journalist afterwards, although I’m not sure who she’s associated with.
Round 10
The last individual round was just before lunch. It was 45 minutes to do 9 combo variants worth 575 points. I did 6 of them skipping the 2 easiest and 1 near the end. I hope to have gotten about 400 points.
The remaining team rounds are after lunch.
Round 9
This was 9 sudokus for 550 points over 45 minutes. I got 6 of them if all correct but these sudokus were unusual shapes and patterns so it’s difficult to tell if I was correct on the ones I think I solved. If all correct, I got 390 out of 550 points.
Round 8
This was 45 minutes to do 550 points worth of sudokus with outside clues. It was slow going as I tried to avoid making any careless mistakes. I did 5 of them leaving both shape and outside sudokus. If all correct, I only got 340 out of 550 points.
