These last three minutes of overtime had everything

Tom gets pushed into the net, and then the goalie cross-checks him for the SECOND time in the game, rather unprompted imo

The GOALIE starts a FIGHT with Tom??? While they were still IN the net??? This is still the wildest part of it all

Tom somehow did not get a matching minor in all of that which was a shock. Tom often draws penalties by the other player getting mad at him but drawing one on the goalie is a new one

Ovi breaks his long goalless drought with a gorgeous PP OT winner

After scoring Ovi screams at Carly and then he and Carly leap into each other’s arms

Carly looks like he’s the most excited one here, he’s super smiley and hugging Ovi and I really want a gif of that

The entire team hops off the bench for a much deserved happy goal hug

Before joining the hug, Tom stops and screams directly into Elvis’ face and then goes to Ovi

During the hug, you can see the ENTIRE TEAM pause to scream at Elvis as he skates past them on the way to the bench. I think Strome starts screaming first but almost every one of them joins in as he skates by it’s too funny they literally stop celebrating just to yell at him

Ovi says “that’s a team pregame ritual and we’re gonna keep it between us” as if they don’t post the pregame tunnel nonsense on Twitter before every single game

Emily Kaplan says that the Caps had a team meeting about faceoffs in which they said “the wingers and defensemen need to help out.”

I interpret this as Kuzy, Strome, Eller, and Dowd standing up in front of the group and saying something along the lines of “you fuckers never fucking help us and if you sons of bitches don’t start pulling your weight we are going to lose our minds”
