HELP I JUST HEARD A GROWN ASS MAN ASK SOMEONE IF THEY JUST ABRACADABRA'D THEIR DICK AWAY!!!!!!!!!!
I really want to talk about this moment.
Now, season two had an unfortunate problem of being filmed during the writers’ strike. Meaning that a season that was probably planned at the usual twenty-six had to be rushed and cut down to eleven. That’s a lot of story and character to try getting through in a short window.
But let’s just for a moment forget that and consider this moment in the context of the world. We have Adam Monroe, who’s been imprisoned by Primatech for the last thirty years. Considering the Company’s “bag-and-tag” policy, it’s safe to assume they’ve used Hartsdale before. And it’s not like they ever forgot or lost track of where their most long-staying prisoner was being kept.
On the other side we have Peter Petrelli, who is already in a bad place because of his explosion and the injury he caused his brother. He is willingly allowing himself to be locked up because he believes it’s the best way to keep everyone safe. But he still holds a lot of guilt over Nathan and he’s a naturally trusting person who only wants to make things right and be a hero.
So what does Bob Bishop do? He puts Peter in the room right next to Adam’s. Putting a vulnerable and easily manipulated person right next to a known manipulator who would immediately narrow in on that vulnerability and use it to his advantage. Not even considering the fact that the Company doesn’t even know half the powers Peter absorbed. They are quite literally putting a bomb next to someone who wants to kill them all.
I can’t help laughing at how absurdly stupid this was. The only way I can make any remote sense out of it was that Bob was hoping Peter would be the good little Italian Eagle Scout and rat out Adam.
Me, I just like to think that after Linderman’s death, no one really wanted to take over Primatech, so Bob stepped in. A few months later, all the Founders are like: “GODDAMMIT, BOB. YOU HAD ONE JOB.”
What under heaven do you suppose has got into Bob Burton? he writes me such confounded mournful letters that I suspect some little gipsey has been playing the fool with him. If so I advise him to go to sea; for sea–sickness is a most excellent remedy for all love diseases.
