Inktober 2019 Days 23 and 24: "Ancient” and “Dizzy” I was inspired by a ridiculous AF what-if scenario involving Mannimarco somehow weaseling his way out of Oblivion and winding up on modern-day Earth while losing his powers in the process. Please forgive me, for I’m not a writer!

Finding himself alone in a completely alien environment with no money to his name, the King of Worms must start anew…by finding recruits. He spent a bit of time absorbing as much of the culture and mannerisms of his new surroundings, all while committing theft (and lots of it!) along the way to survive, sleeping on park benches, in alleyways, 24-hour Walmart Supercenters, etc. Armed with his new-found knowledge, Mannimarco set his sights on the local university as his first target—a batch of fresh, malleable young minds would make the perfect new members into his cult. Swiping a sandwich board and a few office supplies from around the campus, he set-up shop in one of the courtyards near a cluster of sign-up stations for student organizations. Clearing his throat, he belted out what had to be the cringiest sales pitch in all of history. I won’t delve into his exact dialogue, but picture somebody’s dad attempting to endear himself to his children and their friends using the latest slang terms. His vernacular did not fare well with the 18–20-something crowd, who jeered in his direction, followed by an empty beer bottle hurled at the back of his head. Things quickly devolved from there, with the angry Altmer charging toward the offending party, ready to bludgeon them with his trusty staff. Fortunately, the campus police happened to be passing through to intervene. Mannimarco, in his all-entitled glory, attacked the officers as well and was promptly arrested. He soon found himself jailed in county lockup, with a meth head as his cellmate.
