WTRO Physician Job Opening
The DIDD West Tennessee Regional Office in Arlington is seeking a physician to advise and represent the department regarding the provision of consultative medical services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Currently licensed and in good standing by the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners
Specialty in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (preferred). Other disciplines considered.
Ability to do research as well as publish scholarly articles
Consultation provided to community agencies through educating activities, while advancing Departmental policies and practices
Consultative medical services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Ability to influence and motivate others as well as advocate for the medical needs of persons served
Provide consulting services to other doctors caring for patients with special or difficult problems
Documenting and/or recording information - Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic form
Public speaking
Specialized training in developmental disabilities OR one year of experience in treating people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a medical setting
Travel required – valid driver license required
This position reports directly to the Director of Health Services and works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

West Region Quarterly Protection from Harm Provider Meeting
The West Tennessee Regional Office of Incident Management will be conducting its quarterly meeting on August 11, 2017, from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the West TN Regional Office in Jackson as noted below. Provider Incident Management Coordinators (IMCs) and/or provider Protection From Harm staff are invited to attend. This is an informational and interactive meeting, with opportunities for attendees to provide feedback pertaining to the Incident Management Unit. Provider Management is welcomed to designate a representative to attend, as needed.
Attendees must present either a valid driver’s license, State identification, or a State identification badge for entry to the building.

West Region Trend Analysis Workshop
Our Protection From Harm team in the West Region is excited to announce its first ever Trend Analysis Provider Workshop. The event is scheduled for Thursday, June 29 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (CDT) at the DIDD WTRO Auditorium located at 11437 Milton Wilson Rd, Arlington, TN 38002. WTRO Job Opening
The Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (DIDD) is seeking candidates for a Physician Psychiatrist position in the West Tennessee Regional Office in Shelby County. This position will serve as a consultant to staff in State-operated homes, and will serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position will also serve as a consultant to community psychiatrists and circles of support, and will communicate with persons outside the organization on an as-needed basis. Qualified candidates must have a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree in Psychiatry; experience in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities; be board certified, licensed as a Psychiatrist and in good standing by the State of Tennessee and have a valid driver license. The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written skills including a top-notch ability to listen and develop a good rapport with people; the ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner, collaborate positively with multiple stakeholders; organize and prioritize assignments, work independently and have flexibility in their work schedule.
