We all ignore the trench

Living in a land of horrible absurdity for more than a year will give you some ideas. When you read Russian news every day you can't help but think of horror podcasts' universes. Politicans declaring war with Satan, lots of people gleefully diving back to Soviet times, school teachers and parents reporting children to the forces, mass hysteria in media about "Ukrainian fascists" and 1000 and 1 reasons why Ukraine must be destroyed, declaring people soldiers at the moment the writ is sent.

So I had this idea about a fan podcast (is it a thing?) in WTTNV universe, a broadcast of a local station, Nulgorsk.fm. A couple of hosts are chatting, reading local news, taking calls from listeners, and casually painting a picture of absolute insanity around. And at the end of each episode there's a question for the dear listeners - what is fiction and what is the absolutely real Russian news. 

And a second one, set in TMA universe. a collection of statements and episodes from local institute (with an unpronounceable abbreviation of course) similar to the Magnus institute. The employees are investigating various cases and trying to sort out genuine encounters from general madness around. And damn, what a job.

i might end up getting into welcome to the night vale. like. i dont know what it is about. always saw it one way or another. a friend of mine likes it. and i have most of tomorrow free so i will use that time to find wtf wttnv is about

I gave in today and started listening to Welcome to Night Vale. They were right, Cecil is in fact iconic.

First episode and this dude is already simping for the scientist. The episodes are also really short and addicting.

Hey Slender how do you feel about the SCPs and the tiny town Night Vale?

“SCP tries to raid this place a lot, but we tend to get out of the way quick enough. If someone gets captured we take out their van or whatever it is and go from there,” he says, taking a sip of tea. Putting the cup aside, he pulls out a book from nowhere and it has Welcome to the Night Vale written across the cover. “Being that I can’t listen to the podcast myself, I do visit sometimes and read to catch up what is going on.”
