WTW PLANET PROMPTS - PLANET NAME: Day 5 - Jupiter - Religion or Commerce

The Trading Floor is a cavernous complex. Concrete walls support a flat roof tiled and lined with lead. The ground is cobblestones currently being swept clean by two young boys who rub at their eyes and stifle yawns. Chalkboards declare the names of boats expected for the day, along with details of their shipments. The information is painstakingly etched in by clerks on ladders, shouting to one another as they work, scrubbing out any changing information. It is early yet the bustle of the day's business is starting to thicken. Along the walls there are windows, most of them closed for now. There are at least half a hundred, all of ornately carved wood and heavy shutters all with thick coloured panes of glass. Every one boasts a sign to explain what each window us for; exchanging currency, weighing goods, testing their quality, grading their value and for checking papers and forms

Glass Butterflies

WELCOME TO WRITEBLR SECRET SANTA Happy Holidays @thousand-page-dreams

Your name was pulled out of the stocking that adorned my wall this festive season, and I got to work on making something that would fit you and your writing. I hope that the following poem (under the cut) does your WIP Glass Butterflies and the characters therein justice.

Glass Butterflies

People see me as a fragile thing To be handled carefully I wouldn’t know a thing about it So I keep my distance and watch Hoping to catch that moment that Makes me understand So I can finally move out of this shadow Hoping others will finally notice me

People see me as a butterfly To be adored and gawked at I do not see myself as such a thing So I keep to myself and try to forget Hoping these expectations will Not anchor me in place So I can finally move out of this limelight Hoping others will see who and not what I am

WTW Pumpkin Palooza Day#03: Crystal Ball

Crystal Ball - Outline a scene, act, or your entire WIP

So heres the plot i guess (definitly subject to change):

Walvryn and Leofric's mom dies

Walvryn joins the military, the space fighter pilots

Leofric starts to get radicilized into anti-genetic engineering, anti-implants ideas online and makes a video of him cutting out his implant

Walvryn completes training

Leofric starts a breakaway colony, that's not allowed, so there's a war

Walvryn's dad contacts her

Walvryn's ship gets hit, she's really injured (and Leofric now wants to go see her, but can't shes on a military base)

Walvryn turns down the offer to train pilots, and leaves the military, lives with her father and his family for a bit

Walvryn decides she neeeds to spend some time with Leoffric, and so goes to live with him

the war ends i guess? and Leofric's side loses

WTW PLANET PROMPTS - PLANET NAME: Day 1 - Mercury - Locations or Travel - Cyre

The town is not on the same grand span as Anspol. It is even smaller than Kuzgrad. It's nothing but hundred houses clinging to the edge of that stony shore. It was an insignificant fishing village until some Vasily King decided to spend the warmer months here. But even a succession of royal tourists and that bloody day when it all came crashing down, could change this place from what it always wanted to be. Stubborn as only a northerner could be.

It is a lie.

There had been been a her. There has always been a her, though I had felt something for Dynaera. Katya had never been far from my thoughts. Even an ocean apart, her letters had sustained me, they had given me life. I couldn’t settle being a secret for anybody, not after my life in Hiem. But she had never been far from my thoughts, haunting me, gracing me.

WTW RELATIONSHIPS WEEK - Day 6 - Family 

"Henrik, Pyotyr, Yaroslav, Joachim, Ernst, Carol, Leopold and then me," Olezka recites. 'Henrik was the oldest, he was going to be the Grand Duke. Pyotyr was the clever one, he was going to university. Yaroslav was in the army, he was a regimental colonel - not just honourary. Joachim was the best at telling stories - Mikhail loved him because he used to lend him books. Ernst was the best with animals, he had a dog that used to sleep on his bed - though Mama always made a fuss. Carol was a vain, silly old thing but he was very good to me. Leopold was five years older than me. But he always played with me. Even when the others used to make fun of him for never leaving the nursery. I'm older now than he was... When it happened. I'll be older than all of them one day."
