In our previous article, we have discussed the purpose and the basic tips of elevator pitching. According to By Reputation, 25% of business partnerships are made possible by elevator pitches. So, whatever your current job is, it's important to know how to make a good elevator pitch.
Now that you have already know the basics, let’s start with the tips on how to craft a short yet captivating elevator pitch of your own!
1. Start on who are you?
The first thing you have to say in an elevator pitch is, to mention who you are and where your company comes from. No need to beat around the bush, just say it in one sentence because you have a very limited time.
2. What do you do or what can you offer?
Then, you need to mention what you do in your occupation or study and what products or services you offer. Make the explanation specific and interesting in 1-2 sentences.
3. What are your goals?
You don't need to get too specific. But do remember to say what you're looking for. For instance, you might say, "a role in accounting" or "an opportunity to apply my sales skills to a new market" or "to relocate to San Francisco with a job in this same industry."

4. How are you different from the others?
The audiences want to know what sets you apart from the rest. You can start with the specific abilities you have, this can be in the form of soft skills or hard skills. You can also add specific experiences that you have had in your relevant previous organization, study, or job.
5. Be positive and flexible
You often aren’t interviewing for a specific position when you deliver your pitch, so you want to appear open-minded and flexible. Don’t lead with the stuff you’d rather not be doing. This is your chance to make a great first impression with a potential employer. Don’t waste it!
Don’t forget to practice your own elevator pitch and stay tuned for the third part on the don’ts of elevator pitch!
