Sol is a loner living in the ghost town, Littlebark, with no family or friends to keep him company. For as long as Sol can remember, he’s been alone in Littlebark following the plague that wiped out the town, so his only company is the spirits of the fallen residents of the town. 

Sol knows that his birth name is Chrysanthemum after he investigated the town graveyard and found the bodies of all the residents except for baby Chrysanthemum. At age 12, Sol was visited in Littlebark by a shapeshifter named Felix Reyes, who helped him create a new name and identity for himself. Despite Felix’s insistence that Sol come stay with him, Sol refused, and stayed in Littlebark even after Felix returned to his far away home.

Sol spends his days planting flowers, collecting antiques, and gathering information about the former residents of Littlebark. He has very minimal reading and writing knowledge, so he gathered information by talking to the spirits he encountered, eventually learning that when they told their story, they would eventually fade away and Sol would no longer see their spirits anymore. 

Extra notes: 

In the time that Felix stayed with Sol in Littlebark, Felix taught Sol how to defend himself using whatever tools were available in the village - kitchen knives, short swords, and scythes. Though he doesn't need to fight, Sol usually keeps a retractable scythe with him in case of emergencies and it doubles as a useful tool when he’s gardening in the town. 

Due to his attachment to his scythe, Sol unintentionally turned his scythe into a tool he could use to channel his Spectral magic, which he uses instinctively when he meets a spirit that needs to pass on.

Sol’s Spectral magic has a unique ability that allows him to sense when people are lying. 

Sol made it a point to match every Littlebark residents’ belongings to their individual graves, putting everything in ‘memory boxes’ of sorts and burying them with the remains of the residents’ at their gravestones.

Though not very trusting of others, Sol tends to get very attached and somewhat clingy when he is around people.

“I’m not sure what name they use now, as I believe they’ve transitioned to a new identity since I last saw them, but they are a coatimundi with a leaf mark on their cheek. They won’t be easy to get to know, but you must forgive them for their bluntness, they’ve had a rather rough life.”

An ‘invert’ on Whistold is a basic animal that lives for the sole purpose of regulating nature in the world. Inverts are less intelligent than the people of Whistold and are typically used for food sources or as pets to the people of Whistold. Inverts are inferior to the people of Whistold. Any magic person can perform a mild shapeshift known as inverting to transform into their invert counterpart.

Sol is a quirky individual who is largely unfamiliar with societal life. Sol grew up with the innate ability to see and communicate with spirits, leading him to relate more to the dead than the living. 

Sol is reckless, not very bright, and incredibly chatty. Though he isn’t used to people, he gladly assists Con and Kai in the prophecy team.
