THIS IS THE STORY ALL ABOUT HOW COURTNEY MET 5SOS 2.0
(calum was there too luke wasn't but we'll get to that)
((basically the play-by-play of the four day man hunt for 1d & 5sos))
damn i don't know where to even begin./
okay so august 17th i drove from florida to nashville for wwa (if you're asking why on god's green earth would you ever do that when they're coming to florida i would tell you that is because i didn't get vip for tampa bc ticketmaster likes to ruin lives so i ended up getting 5th row vip for nashville)
so we got there sunday (the show was tuesday and they had a concert in detroit sunday) and we walked around downtown and checked it out and looked at the stadium and i was legit shitting my pants bc i was looking at it thinking i was going to be fifTH ROW in a stadIUM like ???? it's so crazy that i was able to be that close omfg but yeah this is part of my group & me in front of the stadium :-)
sunday we didn't really do much bc ya know no one was in town but we got up pretty early monday to try to catch the buses coming into town but that was pretty much a fail, but around 10ish we did catch the 1d buses pulling into the stadium
and we asked a driver if any of the boys were on the buses and he said they were already at the hotel and i asked could you at least tell us the first letter of the hotel and he said "no, sorry, i would but it would cost me my job" then he was like "i can tell you one thing, it's in nashville" so i was like :| thnx bud
but we did get pictures in front of one of them and i've never seen someone get this close so i guess that's a first for the fandom right
(also, i'm not 100% sure that he was telling the whole truth about that bc i figured out later that harry/niall/liam flew the night before and zayn/louis drove and the buses were still on and running - and we waited and watched them for like and hour and there was no movement so we just left - but ya know louis and zayn were prob still sleeping on that bus for all i know. especially since when we went up to take that pic a diff driver came around and looked like he was going to tackle us but we motioned like we were just taking a picture and he calmed down but still stared us down)
like idk if he would've been that concerned if no one special were on the buses....but i digress
anyways
so monday ~midday i had checked into my hotel and everything and me and my friends were blocks away getting food when my mom texts me this with the caption "outside our window"
and i ofc immediately recognized it as the 5sos bus so we literally sprinted like 10 city blocks back to the hotel but come to find out our luck that was their crew bus that just so happens to look exactly the same, and their crew was staying at my hotel and not the boys. so we went back to eat in shame & disappointment
but laTER
we were driving around an area with nice hotels and my mom just points and says "look" and literally right. there. is. the. 5sos. bus. at. a. stop light. so we break all kinds of traffic rules and do a u-turn as soon as we can and follow it until it pulls up to this hotel, and literally it's just us waiting there. and we see chip their driver get off and some guards with luggage and so we're like okay...we know this is actualyl them like this is where they're staying cool but the boys never got off the bus and so i'm assuming they were dropped off somewhere beforehand
so i called but the hotel was completely booked for the next couple of days but i made a reservation at the hotel restaurant for that night so i knew we would at least have an excuse to be there
so we had nothing else to do and had no other leads so we chilled across the street for a couple hours just watching to see if anything happened and literally i didn't even realize it at the time but sandy and jon from 1d's band walked right by our car, across the street and into the hotel...and i didn't even realize it was them until they were already halfway into the street
so that night we went to the hotel and ate dinner and we were legit scoping the place out the whole entire time and my mom pointed to this rando and asked if he was anyone and he wasn't but then i recognized the boys' vocal coach helen and she walked right past us and went to sit at a table and lou teasdale was sitting there with lux
so long story short we met lou before she went out clubbing with niall and lux was really mad bc she didn't want lou to leave her (but she was so cUTE) and lou was SOOOOO nice like a hotel lady came up and tried to make us leave her alone but she was like 'no no they're fine just let me take a picture with them' she was amazing
i also saw ben chang there who's like their sound engineer but he always hangs out with liam so i should've known to follow him bc he ended up being with liam/zayn/niall that night but alas i went to find harry but that's way too long of a story and you can read about that here [x]
ANYWAYS SO 5SOS
it was literally the most frustrating thing bc i was looking for them the whole. damn. time i was there but like literally no one in the city had found them bc they were completely MIA !! like when we were on our harry escapade we asked girls on the street who they were looking for and they said 'anyone we can find' then we were like have you heard anything about 5sos and they said 'girl...no one has heard anything about 5sos' and this was coming from multiple groups like it was so bad
so after the show i had basically given up all hope that i was going to meet any of the 9 this trip and i was kinda bummed but not really bc i was still on the concert high bc it was sO FUCKING GOOD like i can't even describe it (they randomly played disconnected ???????? when they weren't supposed to ??????? that's my fav song of theirs of all time ????? i almost started crying ???????) (and 1d obviously bc i'm in love with them i have been for four years that's never gonna change)
so we're waiting in the parking lot after the show trying to leave and the official account tweets 'recording/writing again' or somethin like that and my friend remembered that john feldmann had posted a pic on insta from inside a studio but then we tried to find it but he deleted it, so i looked it up on twitter and found it somewhere, and i just typed into google "nashville recording studio" and compared the pictures
and literally the sixth picture down, i was like "uhmm. guys. doesn't this look the same to you" bc the walls were the same and the sound boards looked the same, and it was super close to where we were, so i was like okay, let's just ride by there and check it out and if nothing's there we'll just go back to the hotel
so we drive to the studio and there's a fucking
huge
black
van
sitting
out
back
so me and my friends are like
well sjhit
we waited for maybe two and a half hours (?? give or take) and a couple other girls joined us who had done the same thing we did but they were super chill and the studio had these glass walls on the back so you could see ppl walking by and at one point a girl saw michael so we were like oh goD now we KNOW they're here for sure and it was like 1:30am and i was sitting on the ground leaning against a stranger's car eating a cliff bar waitin on 5sos it was so surreal man
and it was so weird yet amazingly cool at the same time bc we knew they were writing/recording so we could hear muffled sounds coming from the building so i'd like to think that we were the first to hear some of the new songs of album2 :'))))
okaY SO
it was around 2:30 and i saw dave walking upstairs and i was like shit then i saw ashton was right behind him and i was like shitshitshitshitshihshit then michael and calum came after and tbh i was kinda just zoned out like holy shit it's gonna happen like nothing was really registering for me
so dave and ashton walk out (and there's only like 9 of us) and literally none of us move an inch from where we were sitting/standing we just wait to see what ashton does like to see if he comes over or not (bc i mean it is really friggin late) but he just walks in our direction and says "what's up gangsters" and we all just kinda stared at him like /.wut then he said "are you in a gang?" and we were like "mayyyybe" but then he literally walked straight up to our huddle and stopped walking and lingered like waiting for us to get up omfg so we all got up then and made like a semi-circle around him and i told him how good the show was, and asked him how the writing went and he said it went good and stuff and we were literally just chatting it was amazing
by that time michael and calum had made their way over and some of the girls dispersed over to them (and by that time i had realized that luke wasn't there :'( idk where he was but ...yeah /sigh) but me and i think two or three others stayed around ashton just talking to him, and they were asking for pictures/hugs but i just got a hug at that point bc i was still chatting with him and i didn't want one of the first things out of my mouth to him to be asking him for a picture (mostly just bc i know how he is kinda sensitive about that stuff) so we were just talking and he said "i don't know how you live in this humidity, it's terrible" and i was like "oh i'm not from here, i drove up from florida so i'm used to it, this isn't that bad" then he was like "oh i like florida" and he said he missed it there and then i told him about how the humidity shouldn't be too bad when they're there in october (idek i guess i'm ashton's personal meteorologist)
it was so weird tho bc you would've thought that when i saw michael i would've walked over to him immediately but like.....i dont't even kenow like ashton just had me legit magnetized to him like i didn't even think about michael or calum being 5 ft away from me i was just like /wow ashton is really cute and really pretty and has a really nice smile and is really cute when he laughs and has a cute talking voice and i like it when he looks at me i want him to keep looking at me and talkign to me/ so i'm pretty positive that's why i spent 99% of the time with ""5sos"" with ashton when he was my #4 lol @ my life right
but apparently (i wouldn;t know bc i was over in ashton world) my friends said calum and michael were really funny and cute and my friend told me about this play-by-play calum was giving about one of my friends going up to michael
and then my other friend taylor told calum she was sorry about his forehead cut and he said "yeah me too it fuckin hurt" lol
and my friend gabbi who told me all this was so happy bc calum's her fav and she was like "courtney - it wasn't like last time!! calum wasn't a robot!! he was a real person!! he was funny!!" so i was v happy for her but wished i could've seen him talk or do something but alas /ashton
/back to me and ashton/ then i realized i was basically the only one who hadn't asked for a picture from him and i could tell they kinda wanted to go so asked him for a pic and he was like yea!! and i took a selfie :-)
but then a girl was like "do you want me to take one of you..?" and i looked at him and i asked "i mean, sure if that's okay..." and he was yeah that's cool so we took this one and it's kind of my new favorite picture ever in existence
so i thanked him and glanced around for my friends/michael/calum and didn't see calum anywhere so i realized he had already gotten in the van so i was like ...shit where's michael so i saw him still taking pictures off to the side so i power walked over to him
i took a pic of him with my friend first then i asked him for one :-)
and i'm pretty sure he got in the van right after he took this with me so thank goodness i pried myself away from ashton when i did
but then ashton was the last to get in the van and as he was leaving he was like "please don't tell anyone we want to come back" and we were like oh my gosh no no of course not we promise so he got in the van and they drove off and we waved goodbye and someone waved back idk who but someone in the van did :-)))))
but :')))))))))))))))))))) this whole experience meeting them just made me SO extremely happy because it was seriously so chill and relaxed, and even though i could tell they were tired af they were still so incredibly sweet, especially ashton, and as corny as it may sound it really warmed my heart that ashton was so kind and welcoming to us because he really didn't have to be, and especially since i didn't have that great of an experience with him the last time i met him in DC in april.
(AND TOO - apparently at the same studio the next night different girls were there and ashton got straight in the van and didn't talk to them at all. so i'm just gonna assume he's in love with us.)
so, yeah :')))) the next day i drove home just in a daze and two days later they were still in nashville so i helped a girl i met there meet them at the same studio and she got a video of luke saying hi to me since i didn't get to meet him (y'all should've seen me....i was literally cryingf, like ugly crying it was bad)
but it was an amazing experience and i get to do it again in a month in tampa & miami and idk how i'm going to survive tbh
