Welcome back, Owls!
We hope you enjoyed your Spring Break! Here’s a quick peek at some of the awesome things happening this week that you won’t want to miss:
Tuesday 3/24 - Mal Blum performs at Sage Cafe A WWC favorite! Mal Blum has been playing at Warren Wilson every year for the past few years.
Thursday 3/26 - Julia Weldon performs at Sage Cafe Another queer singer/songwriter, new to Warren Wilson.
Friday 3/27 and Saturday 3/28 - OUR MONOLOGUES at 7pm in Bryson Warren Wilson’s alternative to Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues. Written, directed, and performed entirely by Warren Wilson students! Monologues cover the topics of sexuality, gender identity, religion, sexual assault/abuse, body positivity, and more. Tickets are a suggested donation of $1-$3 and all proceeds benefit OurVoice.
HAPPY SPRING!
If you're thinking about telling a story at Awkward Town tonight, here's a few things to remember:
1. Keep it consensual! Your stories MUST be consensual! Remember that consent means an active, willing, and sober "yes." If you tell a story that is not consensual, we will ask you to stop.
2. No revealing identities! Please do not reveal your partner's identity! Or anyone involved in your story, for that matter. Do not share names, physical descriptions, or titles like "my RA in Dorland," etc.
3. Stick to your time limit! You will have two minutes to share your story. Please respect this time limit so everyone has a chance to share. We will signal you when you're getting close so you can wrap it up. If you go over two minutes, we will cut you off!
4. Clear the aisles! We will have plenty of seating up front for everyone. Please do not gather in the back of the cafe or sit in the aisles. There must be a clear path for people to get out.
5. Safe Space is upstairs. If at any moment you feel uncomfortable and you need to leave, please feel free to do so. The common room of the Sage Dorm upstairs will be a designated Safe Space. CGR Crew members will also be available if you want to talk.
Back on campus? Want to learn more about safer sex and consent?
Come to "Let's Talk About Sex" tonight at 7pm in Sage Cafe!
