The night opens with none other then Alberto Del Rio coming down to the ring. He talks and rants about how he should be the one to be WWE Champion and he should fight John Cena for the title. He is interupted by Rey Mysterio. "Your destiny isn't to be champion or the greatest of the great, your destiny is to be personal ring annoincer for Ricardo Rodriguez," he says. Mysterio then challenges Del Rio to a match. Del Rio declines calling Mysterio a "ghetto chihuahua" and says about how he has already beaten Rey a bunch of times.
Then we hear Miz's music. He does his whole "Really?" thing and says that Raw is his show and the WWE Championship is his title. He says how it was Alex Riley's fault that he lost it in the first place. Del Rio snaps out at Miz. "You had your chance and didn't get the job done" he says. "You are now in the back of the line!" "Miz explains how he did in fact pin Cena and he was the champion but the biased ref reveresd his decision. He then says to Del Rio and Rey, which I thought was hilarious, "You two can could verse each other in a Taco Bell Parking lot."
Next R-Truth comes out. "You know what I hate?" he askes. "I hate hospital food. It's dry as a desert, it smells bad, and it tastes bad and you never get it when you want it, John Morrison is eating a whole lot of hospital food right now because of me!" He then rolls the clip of him attacking Morrison last week on Raw (5/2/2011). He then does a shout out to Morrison, "P.S. hospital food gives you constipation." He then announces what he thinks of each guy in the ring.
Miz-pretty boy from L.A., Kermit
Rey Mysterio-Superhero wannabe from San Diego, Bottlenose
Alberto Del Rio- Some mexican popper, fence jumper, Liver Lips
He proceeds his ranting with, now one of my favorite lines, "You kick my dog, I'll kick your cat!"
The GM interupts. He says only 3 of the men in the ring deserve to be #1 contender for the WWE Championship. He agrees with Miz's argrument and Del Rio's agrument. We see the lights flicker and the little ding noise again and the GM apologizes that he was so excited. The third man is none other the Rey Mysterio!
"AGAIN!" shouts Truth. "Thats happened to me AGAIN! I'm better then every last one of you!" He then steps right into Mysterio's face. "Especially you!"
"For once, I actually agree with the GM," Rey snickers. "That's whats up, the truth. the whole truth, and nothing but the truth!"
R-Truth leaves angry, mumbling to himself. "The next WWE Champion will be-"Miz yells into the microphone but is quickly interupted with "Alberto Del Rio!" from Ricardo Rodriguez. Del Rio laughs and Riley attacks him. Ricardo attacks Miz and the fight is on. As Miz and Riley stumble away Rey jumps over the ropes, taking out Del Rio. His song is played and thats that.
It is later mentioned that Cena will pick the stimulation of the match that him and his opponent will fight.
Diva Match was next. It was tag team with Bellas V. Kelly Kelly and Eve. My prediction for this match was Kelly Kelly and Eve but I expected Kharma it get involved, which was the only reason I watched it. The match was short and sweet. Eve stopped the Bellas from doing that Twin thing they do and Kelly Kelly and Eve won.
Then the antipated Kharma comes out! The Bellas, already out of the ring, try crawling away but don't get nowhere. Kharma gets into the ring and they make a run for it. Eve tries to attack Kharma from behind but is quickly knocked down and pracitcly out. Kharma then turns her attention to Kelly who is outside of the ring. She half chases her until Kelly is out. Then she turns her attention to Eve. She does that big implant move that she does and leaves.
On to the next match, Mason Ryan V. Kane with CM Punk in Ryan's corner and Big Show in Kane's corner. After the power he showed last week, Mason Ryan was my prediction. Ryan took an early lead but Kane quickly took over. CM Punk distracted Kane allowing Ryan to take over. Big Show walks over to Punk mad and hits him with WMD "Weapons of Mass Destruction" or his knockout punch. Kane throws Ryan out and the other two members of Nexus jump in to play the numbers game with Kane. Kane and Big Show were having none of that. They quickly took out them, chokeslamed Mason Ryan, and left to Kane's music.
Next match was Santino V. Ziggler. My prediction for this match was obviously Ziggler. Santino is the funny man and cant be taken seriously unless he's with Kozlov and Ziggler is a better wrestler. In the begining of the match, Ziggler just messed with Satino, clearly overpowering. Santino, surprisingly enough, was able to take charge. He gets ready for the Cobra but Ziggler drop kicks him and pins, simple as that.
Cameras now go backstage to where R-Truth is walking along, talking to himself. Scott Sanderson talks to him about the situation at hand and Truth calls it a conspiracy. Truth talks about the letters he gets from parents and says he’s not being taken seriously as the singing and dancing version. He makes a little impersonation of the parents and it's pretty funny. He says how Miz, Del Rio, and Mysterio need to “get got” and he’s going to do that on his own terms. That’s the truth. Truth goes to walk away, but comes back and asks him to ‘say it” and Sanderson has no idea. Truth tells him to say “what’s up” and he does…then Truth says “tell little Ronnie I said hi!” and leaves. I, too, am a bit confused from this.
Next the camera goes to Miz and Riley, also backstage. Miz blames Riley for his lost against Cena. While Riley apologizes, Miz call him stupid and amoeba, the lowest form of life with no brain cells. Riley says that he'll make it up to Miz and to "watch this". The camera follows Riley and we here King say "Where's he heading? Walking to Nashville or something?" We finally see that Riley was heading to the ring where he calls out John Cena. After Cena doesn't come out, Riley yells to "get out here Cena," and throws the mic. We then hear Cena's music.
Cena V. Riley is up. Of course, I'm going to predict Cena. Cena takes lead and toys with Riley, knocking him down everytime he gets back up. Cena misses giving Riley the chance for a lead. Cena comes back and hits a 5 knuckle shuffle. He hits an attitude adjustment and Miz comes out. Cena doesnt take his eyes off of Miz while he hits another aditude adjustment and goes into an STF, making Riley tap. Miz slowly back out and leaves.
Cole gets into the ring and announces that he cant get any higher and he his retiring in ring competion. He says that he will be pronounced into the WWE Hall of Fame as an announcer and the first ever undefested in ring competitor. King interrupts and rolls the footage of Cole getting beat up by the Rock. "The day your inducted into the Hall of Fame life would cease to exist." King says. He then challenges Cole to a match. If Cole wins, King will personally induct Cole into the Hall of Fame and give Cole his own HOF Ring.
Cole declines and goes back to his box. "Why are Tennessee people such sore losers?" he askes. He then brings up Al Gore who lost to that greatest president of all time, George W. Bush (as Cole put it), Elvis fans who refuse to believe that Elvis died on the toilet, and King himself. He then says how he spent Mother's Day by flying his mom down to Texas and watching Cole beat King at Wrestlemania over and over again. He then askes King what he did for Mother's day. "Oh yeah, I forgot. Your mom passes away in February," Cole sneered. Now I don't care how evil you're trying to make someone seem, WWE should never do stuff with the villain is teasing about someone's relative's death, that's just awful.
Lawler goes balistic and tries to hit Cole, not caring about getting fired. He throws the announcer chair into Cole's little box and fights to open the door. He is then attack by Swagger from behind and taken to the back.
Next match, Kofi V. Swagger. My prediction for this match was Kofi because I've hated Swagger from the get-go. Swagger takes lead, loses it for a second, but gets it again when King comes out. Swagger gets distracted allowing Kofi to quickly get back into it. Kofi pins, retaining the title.
King throws Swagger over the barrier, and goes to the Cole Mine. He throws a chair in first, then grabs Cole by the tie. He slams Cole’s head repeatedly off the glass, all the while Cole is making goofy faces. King eventually pulls on the tie, trying to choke Cole out, until officials separate them. Swagger hits the Mine to rescue his friend and tells King that “you did it now, you’re fired!” because King touched Cole. King says it’s not so, because he only touched Cole’s tie. Swagger said that King just made Cole a first-ballot Hall of Famer and accepted the earlier match proposed by Lawler. Jerry played it up by posing on the desk, but Cole’s not real happy about this match being accepted.
Final match, Alberto Del Rio V. Rey Mysterio V. Miz. My prediction for this match was Miz because I was pretty sure that WWE would continue the Cena V. Miz feud.
Rey and Del Rio tie it up at first but Miz gets involved. Miz locks on a full Nelson but is able to kick away Del Rio. Both Del Rio and Miz end up on the rope and Rey teases the 619 but Del Rio breaks it up. Miz tries a roll up but it doesn’t work. Del Rio tries the cross arm breaker but Miz counters and Miz gets run into the ropes as they tease a roll up by Del Rio. Rey joins the frey again and gets run into the corner where Del Rio is also stacked up. Miz lands his running clothesline to both and nets a two on Rey.
Rey gets snapped down by Miz and locks on a cravat hold to wear Rey down. Rey kicks his way out though, then uses a drop toe hold to put Miz in position but Del Rio breaks up the 619 attempt. Rey tries a hurricanrana but Del Rio tosses him outside. Del Rio nearly gets the Skull Crushing Finale but counters and rolls Miz up for two. All three men are down as they go to break.
Del Rio held serve throughout the break, with Miz outside clutching his ribs. Del Rio controls Rey, then goes outside and works over Miz a bit too. He works over Rey in the ring and covers him for one. Del Rio locks on a headlock to control Rey and the fans get behind Rey. Rey begins to fight his way out and create space but Del Rio chops him. Del Rio thinks of a move off the ropes but Miz pulls the ropes down. Rey delivers a tremendous shot to Miz and drops the dime for two. Miz begs off initially but pulls Rey into the corner. He starts to work Rey over, throwing him to the corner then trying his running clothesline but missing. Del Rio takes down Miz too. Rey throws caution to the wind and flies out onto both men.
A sliding baseball kick to Miz first, then Rey delivers a seated senton to Del Rio for two. Del Rio pushes Rey off the ropes but Rey delivers a hurricanrana. Miz is heading up top but the scrum between Rey and Del Rio knocks Miz off the ropes. Rey covers for two then goes up to deliver a big move to Miz. Del Rio grounds Rey though and stalks him for the cross arm breaker. It’s a submission move and he’s got it locked in. Miz missed his offense but Del Rio didn’t and covers for two.
Miz shoots the half on Del Rio and gets two. Rey is working his way to his feet and Miz is thinking Skull Crushing Finale but Rey counters and Miz ends up on the floor. Riley comes out to help Miz. Del Rio and Rey go at it, and Riley tries to run interference. He gets shoulder blocked down off the apron. Rey dials up 619 and tries to follow it up, but Riley again gets involved. Rey kicks him away, and goes for the cover on Del Rio. Riley pulls Del Rio out of the ring to interrupt the count, but Miz swoops in from behind to roll Rey up for the win.
Miz and Riley celebrate on the ramp, and Rey can’t believe it. Cena comes out and congratulates him. He made no excuses and says Miz is full of them. He picked a match where there will be no count outs, submissions, pinfalls, or disqualifications. If Miz wants to be the champion again, all he has to do is make Cena say two words. He will face Cena in an I Quit Match. Miz can’t believe it but he seems to settle in to the realization. The pair exits, thinking how they’ll work this situation.
