Seth Rollins addresses release of WWE Superstars due to Global Pandemic
Hey guys what’s up….God I don’t even know how to start really….…I just can’t seem to find the words to put it all together, so I figured a video I could at least get some thoughts out. Today is an extremely difficult day for our industry. As a whole, it is extremely difficult, for our WWE family, and that includes everyone, past, present, and future and all of you guys out there, the entire WWE universe. Guys who are fans of just…what we do. I think the most painful part of it all is that it underscores sort of how deep this entire pandemic cuts globally. Whether it be contracting the virus itself, whether it be the confusion of what to do, what not to do, how to proceed with daily life, or whether it’s just the economic fallout that has happened. Ya know WWE isn’t the only corporation globally to have had to furlough employees or to cut jobs all together....My heart is broken for the guys and girls who I’m really close with that had it the worst today. That goes for talent that you guys love on screen but also everyone backstage too, off screen, who may not get the social media fan fair that some of the talent is getting. But one thing I am saying is a little upsetting to me is… all the negativity and hostility towards WWE. This is a difficult day for EVERYONE. For all of us. I think pointing fingers or saying “you should’ve done this or you should’ve done that” is um…[sighs]…I don’t know it just doesn’t feel like the time or the place for it. I think this is a day for compassion and for empathy and for understanding. To try to support each other, ya know, to pick each other up. I think that we have to take it upon ourselves to work harder to make sure that there’s a place for all those who, again, had it the worst today, to come back to. I think as a planet, we can rally around the idea that this is only temporary and that those who have lost their positions and who are struggling to figure out what to do next…that they’ll be able to make it back from this...this isn’t the end. I think if we start fighting amongst ourselves, it’s only going to make things worse. So, I just encourage everyone to try to come together over this, to try to unify, and to support each other, lift each other up. I think THAT is going to be what’s going to take us past this, through this, and hopefully be better on the other side. It’s going to take some time, it’s going to be difficult. I want to thank everybody out there who’s been so supportive of our WWE family today. I want to urge everybody to have some empathy and have some compassion for everyone involved in this. It’s been a tough day man. I love you guys. Thank you for taking the time to listen. Hopefully, we can move past this together, supporting each other, all of us, helping out where we can. Stay strong out there, stay safe out there, and do what you can for yourselves and or each other. Thank you guys. I appreciate the time and I appreciate the love. Throwing it back at ya.
I've been seeing alot posts that if WWE released Brock Lesnar, they could have had enough money to keep people.
I'm gonna miss seeing Rich's entrance. Please don't come at me with the discourse...I loved Rich Swann and I thought (still think) he was extremely talented and charismatic!
Looking at the list of wrestlers WWE released is heartbreaking. But I mean, they weren't being utilized to their full potential. So I hope they're able to succeed somewhere else that will treat them better.
