oh my god. since percy invented firearms that absolutely means vox machina invented finger guns. the only question is which one of them did it. was it keyleth trying to communicate shoot to percy across a room and making silly noises out of the corner of her mouth. was it vex half-teasing and half-flirting and somehow making finger guns look cool. was it vax having a moment of extreme bisexuality. was it scanlan just being scanlan.
even in almost 2026 people on the internet will still bend over backwards to justify their homophobia. was looking at Wolfwalkers fanart and people were kicking off about people shipping the leads because they’re “sisters” since their respective parents exchange a flower at the end which is “inherently romantic.” like okay, if that’s your argument, how do we feel about the fact that the girls exchange a flower and blush about it, chief. how do we feel about the part where one caresses another’s cheek. how do we feel about the part where they literally touch noses in wolf form. I’m not the one saying that these things can’t be platonic, that’s you. but if we’re applying your logic, the girls have more romantically coded moments than their parents. you can just say you don’t personally ship them and move on.

btw of course I watched tlovm today and am losing my mind about the fact that perc’ahlia fucked pre-confession! pre-kiss even!? I am enjoying the show as a separate thing to the campaign and fwb perc’ahlia where vex is repressing her feelings bc of her issues with vulnerability and potentially losing things and percy is the one who is openly down bad bc he’s incapable of lying to her but also will literally do anything for her so is willing to go along with whatever she wants despite being obviously in love with her is sooooo 50k slowburn fanfiction au of them /pos. like campaign perc’ahlia will forever be their canon love story for me but I adore this because I get to see my favourites in a New Messy Situation
anyway I’m really behind on tlovm but I was a tiny bit disappointed that when scanlan tried to kiss pike she didn’t say there was someone else (like she did at a similar time in the campaign). I know tlovm has to simplify the characters and because of storytelling rules they don’t want to set up pike’s feelings for percy with no existing setup and no coming payoff but nevertheless, stuff like this is why I love the campaigns! cr breaks storytelling conventions all the time because of dice and because everyone is playing their own character who is truly at the centre of their own narrative and doesn’t have access to anyone else’s interiority. all the women of vm (and vax lbr) having at least a little crush on percy at some point despite him being the worst possible choice and the majority of them at some point going ‘uh, fuck that actually, that’s an abysmal idea ’ makes this feel so much like a realistic friendship group, and creates so much entertaining messy complexity. this isn’t a complaint about tlovm I’m just saying what I’ve said like ten times already they’re doing a really good job translating it! but a lot of what I love is getting lost in translation. yet again.
I find it very funny that the world of the White Rat is called…. The World of the White Rat. It’s like if aliens came to earth and named it The Planet of Shintoism. Like yeah sure I guess, this planet is where that religion is from but it’s not even the most popular one and it’s mostly popular in one place.
