Photoshoot with Philip James Turner & The Crow Mandala at Ribby Hall Photo Studios.

I've just done a shoot for a local band Philip James Turner and the Crow Mandala, https://twitter.com/TheCrowMandala I shot the cover for their debut single "Julie" http://richerunsigned.com/julie/5921/

A great bunch of lads, who produce some great music. We shot the images at my studio at Ribby Hall Village, would have liked to have got some shots on location but it was a shocking night, so we had to get some different looks using both of the studios we have here.

The shots with the black backdrop were shot using Photoflex constant lighting, and the the ones against our white infinity cove were lit with Elinchrom strobes.

Arkholme Village Country Wedding

I recently had the privilege of shooting a wedding for a great couple Rachel and Mitch, who got married at St Lukes Church, in Slynne near Lancaster, and then had their reception at Arkholme Village Hall.

It's always an honour for someone to put their trust in you, that you will capture the spirit of their special day.

What is great for a wedding photographer is when a couple, really wants you there, I mean they want the photographs to be special, and not just the standard fayre, and will give you the time to capture the special moments.

This is exactly what I got from Rachel and Mitch, we had numerous conversations prior to the big day, shared idea's on Pinterest, and I believe as a result, I was able to deliver photographs that Rachel and Mitch could look back on in years to come and remember their special day. Here are just a few of the images we captured.

I did the photography for a great couple in March. The wedding was at Beech Wood Hotel in Windermere, a fantastic hotel, with great views of the Lake. (Please click on the title to view a slideshow)

It was a long day but myself and my colleague loved every minute. We were there to capture the bridal preparations, the bride stayed at the cottage owned by the hotel the night before, it is stunning.

The brides family had travelled over from Ireland for the big day, and were certainly up for the craic!

David, my colleague, travelled on a vintage Blackpool Bus, ( had to be gold and green for the Irish!) which broke down on the way to the church, all good fun, and an extra story to tell in the years to come.

The service was at Our Lady of The Lake, church where we got some great shots, the fish eye works a dream in these situations.

We were lucky enough with the weather to be able to get some images on the piers on the Lake, and we then retired to the hotel to shoot the rest of the day. We also provided a photobooth, complete with Irish props which went down a storm, all in all a great day, and the Irish won the 6 Nations!!

Tim is an advertising and portrait photographer based in California, perhaps best known for his powerful sport portraits. like Joel Grimes and Michael Herb I have previously mentioned Tim's work is renowned for his use of strobes, to make his images "pop" from your screen or page, and creatively photoshopped backdrops.

Whilst he is famous for his sports portraits, see below,

and been commissioned by some of the world's largest corporations such as Budweiser, Coca-Cola, Mercedes Benz, Pepsi to name but a few, and photographed global celebrities such as President Bush and Bill Gates he still has time for personal projects such as his "Water Wigs" series, where he took a bunch of bald geezers, popped a water balloon above their heads, and as they exploded they created the illusion of a wet "syrup". A highly creative  and inspirational individual!
