❝ DEAR STUDENTS OF SMA, this is your vice-chancellor and senior executive assistant, SEO YERIM speaking. last night, the patrolling guards reported that multiple students were caught inebriated and oddly dressed near the east wing. i am greatly disappointed to hear of the illicit activities that were held in our great academy, no less. need i remind you that our great barrier and the magical realm is at stake and this academy was established precisely to preserve its sanctity. we here at sma do not take such transgressions lightly, and as such, all students who partook in the ill-advised festivities will be given extra physical training for the rest of this week. i expect to see you report to the gym at FIVE AM SHARP tomorrow. i hope this serves as a warning against such... shenanigans in the future. we, the council of this prestigious academy, expect better from our students, and we trust that there will be no more slip ups in the future. class is now in session. you are dismissed. ❞
may the elements keep us.
OUT OF CHARACTER DETAILS that concludes our first event! if you have any current event threads still ongoing, feel free to thread it to its completion. however, please refrain from starting any new threads or solos pertaining to this event. we’d like to thank all our members for participating in it, and we hope you had fun! this is just a wrap up for the event—unfortunately, the party got a little too rowdy, and they got caught! while this isn’t part of an event, you can use this as an additional prompt/plot point if you’d like. once again, we’d like to thank you so much for joining us and making winx possible! ♡
nothing on the board makes sense to her. she kan’t understand what sartre is--- isn’t that supposed to be a literary genre?--- or anything else that’s written on the board.
jihyun blinks at the pdf on her laptop. at the board. then at the holopad, with a tauntingly blank note open, ‘ethics 101′ the only bit of writing on it. at the board again, and then it all clicks.
“hey.” she leans over to her seatmate, rapping her knuckles lightly on their desk to get their attention. voice low so as to not disturb the class, she offers them a sheepish little smile by way of apology for interrupting them. “this isn’t introduction to ethics, right?”
of course, that’s obviously the only plausible explanation for jihyun’s incomprehension. she must be in the wrong class.
haksu discovers this when he walks inside, hauling a grocery bag with various supplementary supplies inside - water bottle, bandages, a kitchen knife - all of those little things he’d forgotten to bring and had to venture to the shops for. he’s only been out for a few hours, but coming back, the inside of the living room has already undergone some change. there’s new cups on the counter, an extra pair of slippers... and most strikingly, the unknown stranger, lounging on the sofa with a particular type of overwhelming presence - the main contributing factor of which is the lack of clothing, save for a towel. it has a profound effect, a surprised, buzzing confusion filling his head like bees until haksu backs out again and lets the door swing shut.
it clicks closed. silence follows, and haksu double-checks the number on the door. 1A. no, wait up. i do live here. ah… then why’d i leave? ...why ain’t this something people tell you about? haksu supposes a ‘having roommates 101’ course doesn’t exactly exist, but there are many unanticipated struggles involved that have already reared their heads, and this is perhaps the most boggling so far.
he gives it another minute of idling in the hallway before quietly shouldering his way back in, ruddiness flooding his cheeks even as he averts his eyes. “are you… uh…” a hand shifts through the cropped hair at the back of his head, and he places his bag of miscellaneous things down on the table. “are you s’posed to be roomin’ here with us?” (yes or no, he isn’t sure which answer would be more preferable.)
ah yes, there it is. there’s the sharp smell of strong liquor masked by a drizzle of sweet. he lets it pour into his mouth, face scrunched from the shot he lets roll on his tongue, and there’s the euphoric sigh to come after the swallow. and it tastes like this: tight bodies rubbing against each other as they meander their way through the sweaty crowd, the devil-may-care chatter and laughter to make up the white noise in this congested space, and the sweet, sweet come-hither glances from strangers with red strings from across the room.
it tastes like life— like living, just as he remembers it.
( perhaps this academy thing isn’t such a bore after all. )
and living, as he remembers her, is spending some nights wrapped in bang yeoreum’s sure arms—well, hers amongst the many others. and life… well, she plays favourites, dotes on park beomseok the way his mother never could. why, here she is now, spoiling him with a little treat, a sour candy with an oozing centre.
here is bang boreum, one of his many lovers’ daughters, busying herself at the makeshift drinks table. and he shouldn’t do this, shouldn’t play with her the way he does, not when he’s come to this costume party sans the costume, and certainly not when he’s fucking her old mother. but it’s precisely because he shouldn’t do this that he wants to. adam was only a man, after all, and evidently, so is he.
she doesn’t see him yet, back turned to him as she’s facing the table, so he braces. and by brace, he doesn’t mean to prepare himself for the fallback—no, his naked arms create a brace around her frame, traps her by the waist as he places his hands on either side of her to loosely grip the table’s edge.
“hey,” the way in which the whisper falls is sweet, from the vexing curve of his plump lips into her pretty ear.
the bulletin board is a mad rush at this time of day. the students are wedged between each other, shoulder to shoulder, as they urgently write their names down for the last of the classes they wish to sign up for. in the midst of chaos, a cold wind blows, rattling the corner of one of the sign up sheets. an eagle-eyed student notices a scribble on the top of the sheet, too stark to be accidental. upon closer inspection, they realise that it is the rough shape of an arrow. that’s strange. look below? they glance down, and the student finds a couple of markings scratched faintly on the base of the bulletin board. odd, considering that the school’s just reopened—surely there hasn’t been enough time for wear and tear? that mustn’t be it… the markings look familiar. could it be a code of some sort? the student studies it for a little while, and suddenly it all clicks:
EAST, 1E, 11PM. TRICK OR TREAT!
OUT OF CHARACTER DETAILS surprise! some particularly outgoing students have organised an unofficial welcoming mixer that doubles as a HALLOWEEN PARTY for everyone. this event drop is part of our two week welcome event!
ADDITIONAL INFO this halloween costume party is an open invitation mixer where your muses can mingle and interact! almost anything goes, though the host has instated a hard rule that only those dressed in their spookiest costumes may be let in! speaking of rules, the academy has prohibited all dorm parties, especially one of this magnitude, so it is very important that your muses sneak their way into the party dorm to keep staff members from discovering them. good luck explaining away the funny outfits if they’re caught! additionally, it was written in the announcement that a student found the invitation on the base of the bulletin board, but not everyone will discover this invitation or recognise the code. that said, your muses could also have heard about the party through word of mouth, a passed note, an invitation from someone who’s discovered it, or any other method you can think of.

last but not least, thank you so much for your interest in winx, and we can’t wait to see your wonderful muses in action!
she thinks, anyway. there are people out there who are much worse than she is, and at least she’s self-aware of her own shortcomings. whether she chooses to address and rectify them... well. that’s not the question that was posed, is it?
han jihyun is a good person, and so she does charity!
(charity) case in point: the man, thankfully dressed in a plain blue sweater, hunkered over the few red cups on his side of the table. on the other, some nameless fairy jihyun can see losing interest by the second.
and she’d worked so hard to get him to wear that.
as @haksuwx throws his chances of not dying alone away along with the ping pong balls (that don’t even go anywhere near the cups? he’s a specialist?), jihyun decides she can’t watch her hard work go down the drain any longer. sidling up to the table, she announces her presence with “ooh, beer pong? funsies! my turn!” and steals the ball from haksu’s hand.
a sure, steady hand. near-surgical precision, and... the ball lands in the opposing cup. the first dent team haksu’s made since the game’s started--- jihyun thinks it’s honestly impressive how he’s managed to not land even a singular lucky shot. the fairy opposite them looks thankful for an excuse to drink, and jihyun takes the chance to make a little huddle with haksu. “come on, man. get’cha head in the game.”
life feels different when she’s standing on the balls of her feet. the ghost of the classical song begs her to curl her toes en pointe, to fold her arms into a pretty bow, and to spin as though she is the earth and all its inhabitants depend on her to keep twirling on its axis. this time, she ignores the piano concerto, stays her heels close enough to kiss the ground.
and life, on the balls of her feet, feels a little like this: the gust of wind against her cheeks, the haphazard sweeping of chocolate locks across her face, and always, constantly feeling out of breath.
that is to say, these days, bitna feels like she’s always running from something. there’s a ghost on her heels and her path forwards is an unlit void, and she’s always running into it. even now, as she’s standing lifelessly in front of the academy’s bulletin board, she feels its gale sweep her strands of hair onto her cheeks. but she pauses at the dramatics, tries to blame it on the students breezing past even though the sensation churns something vicious at her core.
“hey—” bitna turns to the call, doesn’t even think to question if it’s addressed to her, but suppose it’s all a moot point because now she’s staring into another fairy’s gaping eyes. bitna shakes her head reflexively, “what?”
“wait— you’re that girl, aren’t you?”
and there it is again, the running out of breath. confusion rests on her brows, but her eyes dart haphazardly around in panic. she spots the fairy’s phone in her hands. from its speaker, the classical song plays.
“yeah, you’re that ballet dancer who puked and fell—”
and there it is again, the burning lungs. these days, bitna feels like she’s always running from something.
( but apparently, not when it counts. no, her heels stay just close enough to kiss the ground. )
