Poultry breed observations:

The Dominiques were the most docile - easier to catch, and just sat calmly in your hands while you moved them around. The Leghorns were the wildest - hard to catch and more persistently flappy if you didn’t get both wings under your hands. Perhaps this will serve them well once they become free-range birds. The Wyandottes (both silver and gold) were in the middle.

J says the turkeys were extra easy to catch and move, and I guess they must have been, since he got all three of them across the yard to their new pen while I was still drinking my tea this morning.

These hens are very good workers. They keep slugs and snails at a minimum and cut the grass. Busy little workers. #hens #chickens #chickensinthegarden #mygardentreasures #silverspangled #wyandottes #insecteaters
